There is a .deb ball in the debian repository. http://packages.debian.org/sid/gromacs so you may try sudo aptitude install gromacs It will check the dependencies for you and install those dependent package (which also contains the GNOME staff in it). Hello gmx-users I have compiled gromacs on Debian/Linux wiht the option --with-x but the ngmx binary has not been generated. You probably need more than the Xorg executables to compile ngmx, but I can't suggest what other than both X libraries and header files (e.g. devel packages). Do I need to install gnome or kde?
