GNHLUG presence at SwaNH InfoExchange?
I was chatting with an attendee at last night's Saving Money with Open Source seminar and he wanted to make sure that GNHLUG planned to have a booth at this fall's SwaNH's InfoExchange. I know maddog has spoken at previous conferences. Is anyone in touch with the Powers That Be in that SwaNH? Is this something the group would like to do? ___ gnhlug-org mailing list gnhlug-org@mail.gnhlug.org http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-org

Bill, I don't know what the odds of getting a free booth are, though. I went to their pages and could not see any mention of booth prices. Do we know what they charge, if anything? Secondly, could we offer an Open Source track? md -- Jon maddog Hall Executive Director Linux International(R) email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 80 Amherst St. Voice: +1.603.672.4557 Amherst, N.H. 03031-3032 U.S.A. I know they just promulgated their call for speakers and there isn't an Open Source track, but if we could offer up a plate of ready-made speakers and there's a room how could they say no? -Bill - Bill McGonigle, Owner Work: 603.448.4440 BFC Computing, LLC Home: 603.448.1668 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mobile: 603.252.2606 http://www.bfccomputing.com/Pager: 603.442.1833 AIM: wpmcgonigleText: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For fastest support contact, please follow: http://bfccomputing.com/support_contact.html ___ gnhlug-org mailing list gnhlug-org@mail.gnhlug.org http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-org

how could they say no? Usually an N followed by an O, as in What part of 'NO' don't you understand? :-) But usually they are reasonable people, and they will probably respond. We, on the other hand, had better make sure that we can deliver once we start the ball rolling. md -- Jon maddog Hall Executive Director Linux International(R) email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 80 Amherst St. Voice: +1.603.672.4557 Amherst, N.H. 03031-3032 U.S.A. I've heard back already with the contact info for the guy running the show. So before I spout off to him, there are three sessions we'd need speakers for. We should send him a proposal for each topic with: -Speaker's name, -Speaker's contact information (including email and phone number), -The topic(s) on which the speaker is qualified to speak, and -A brief description of the speaker's credentials. (snipped from their RFS). Maddog is in, since he spoke last year (if he's not preaching in darkest Peru that week). I know Ted's a very professional speaker. Then one more. Topics would need to be pretty high level for the audience. I quite enjoyed Maddog's how many of you have submitted bugs to Microsoft? session last year. Maddog - you're the advocacy expert here, if you want to take the reigns, feel free. Odds are it would be best to get this in before they have a schedule set. -Bill - Bill McGonigle, Owner Work: 603.448.4440 BFC Computing, LLC Home: 603.448.1668 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mobile: 603.252.2606 http://www.bfccomputing.com/Pager: 603.442.1833 AIM: wpmcgonigleText: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For fastest support contact, please follow: http://bfccomputing.com/support_contact.html ___ gnhlug-org mailing list gnhlug-org@mail.gnhlug.org http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-org

You should expect to get a free booth. They usually have some free booths for user groups. This year will be the 12th edition (counting the original pre-SwANH software conference that led to the founding of SwANH). I was on the organizing committee for the first 5 of them. I've also been a speaker at several past conferences. The size of the event has fluctuated over the years. Expect a mix of consultants and corporate-IS types to attend. .David Marston [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ gnhlug-org mailing list gnhlug-org@mail.gnhlug.org http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-org
