Re: Fwd: User group leader conference in Boston, May 2nd
Actually I should clarify. Microsoft sponsoring it would not deter me from going. I am fairly impervious to any propaganda they might throw at me, and would only take away useful information. Probably you are in the same mindset. In fact, I would encourage people to go and to take along as much FOSS stuff as you can. I am not above Microsoft and O'Reilly funding meetings like this to help us get the truth about FOSS out to people. md -- Jon "maddog" Hall Executive Director Linux International(R) email: mad...@li.org 80 Amherst St. Voice: +1.603.672.4557 Amherst, N.H. 03031-3032 U.S.A. Well, Everything was going fine until I saw who was sponsoring it. This is another example of O'Reilly getting in bed with a company that has not been very friendly to Linux and FOSS. I am sure that they would love to get people's names on a mailing list. Do you think they would mind if GNHLUG brought along 100 or so disks of free Software and gave it out to the attendees? md -- Jon "maddog" Hall Executive Director Linux International(R) email: mad...@li.org 80 Amherst St. Voice: +1.603.672.4557 Amherst, N.H. 03031-3032 U.S.A.
