This is a due to gprbuild evolution.
Legacy path for GPR installation was /path/to/install/lib/gnat.
The new style path for GPR installation is /path/to/install/share/gpr.

Depending your GNAT installation you may get one or the other thus the
documentation mention both.
I grant you it is certainly less and less the case.

[Gnoga-list] Gnoga 2.1a configuration inconsistency

2023-09-18 Thread Frank Hrebabetzky

The Gnoga installation instructions contain the line

export GPR_PROJECT_PATH=/path/to/install/share/gpr:/path/to/install/lib/gnat

After a default installation the last directory does not exist. The
directories/files in /path/to/install/lib/ are:

  /components
  /gnoga
  /pragmarc
  /uxstrings
  /zanyblue
  libsqlite3.a
but no /gnat.

I didn't notice any problems though.

Hi Pascal,

Thanks to your advice, the error messages concerning my package net-main.adb
disappeared, but the ones for uxstrings remain without any change.

Hi Frank,

That's an old story with UTF-8 source code encodings and an issue with GPR
actual options for GPR sub-project.
Add "-gnat-W8" to your GPR GNAT project file even if your source files don't
need.

What is your Gnoga version?
Last versions have a work around.

Hi Pascal,

Thanks for the hint, the error messages are gone now.

My Gnoga version is 2.1a.

I'll open another thread about the configuration inconsistency mentioned
above, as it has nothing to do with the problem discussed here.

Thanks again,
