Announcing Orca v2.26.2

2009-05-18 Thread Willie Walker

===
* What is Orca?
===

Orca is a free, open source, flexible, and extensible screen reader that
provides access to the graphical desktop via user-customizable
combinations of speech, braille, and/or magnification. Orca development
has been led by the Sun Microsystems, Inc., Accessibility Program Office
via continued engagement with its end users and generous contributions
from the Mozilla Foundation and wonderful community members.

You can also read more about Orca at http://live.gnome.org/Orca.

==
* What's changed for Orca v2.26.2?
==

2.26.2 - 18-May-2009

General:

* Fix for bug #466841 - Orca doesn't announce items when Alt+Tabbing
  if Compiz is enabled. This fix is designed to improve Orca's access
  to the basic window switcher in Compiz. There are still bugs in
  Compiz which make providing compelling access difficult, but this
  should at least make switching windows accessible.

* Fix for bug #577977 - provide speech feedback for repeat last find
  in Gedit.

* Fix for bug #580329 - Use show_uri() to display help window.

* Fix for bug #580423 - Remove deprecated libgnomeui dependency. Use
  DBus org.gnome.SessionManager.Logout instead of
  gnome.ui.master_client().request_save.

* Fix for bug #582684 - Arrowing left/right across tree tables causes
  whole row to be spoken.

=
* Where can I get it?
=

You can obtain Orca v2.26.2 in source code form at the following:

http://download.gnome.org/sources/orca/2.26/orca-2.26.2.tar.gz

===
 What is mousetweaks ?
===

   The mousetweaks package provides the functions offered by the
   Accessibility tab of the Mouse control panel. It also contains
   two panel applets related to the mouse accessibility. More
   particularly:

1. It offers a way to perform the various clicks without using any
   hardware button. In this context, the Dwell Click panel applet
   can be used to choose what click type to perform.

2. It allows users to perform a secondary click by doing a
   clickhold of the primary mouse button.

3. It provides the Pointer Capture panel applet. This applet creates
   an area on the panel into which the pointer can be captured until
   the user releases it with a predefined button and modifier
   combination.

Misc improvements/fixes:

* Fix dwell click for left-handed mouse orientation, bgo #582319
