Norwegian language codes
Hi all :)
I queried what I thought was a typo in the gossip PO file, and the
developer said:
About #5. I am not sure about this.
I originally took this list from GtkSpell I think.
Anyway, the entries in question are:
"nn", N_("Norwegian (Nynorsk)"),
"nn_NO", N_("Norwegian (Nyorsk)"),
so there is clearly a difference between the language code.
Are these both distinct Norwegian language codes? I haven't
encountered "Nyorsk" before, so I thought I should check.
I'm quite prepared to be wrong. It happens, regularly, if not more
often. :D

is best done using "emacs". You do not need to know much about emacs
to update the file; start emacs, press ESC, then x. Afterwards, type
"add-change"-Press tab to complete, then press Enter. Complete the
fields. Finally, save the file with Ctrl-x-c
e. If you just added a translation in a package, you need to add "ka"
to the supported languages of the package. This involves editing the
"configure.in" file in the main directory of the package as shown at
http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gnome-applets/configure.in?r1=1.400&r2=1.401
In this example, the "ky" language has been added.
f. You also edit the main ChangeLog file of the package, as shown at

This is the "official" process to get the changeover going. If you have trouble getting the previous coordinator to contact, please tell us. Last September the CVS server of GNOME changed over to use SSH and public-key support. Previously it was just username and password. There was an e-mail during that time asking CVS account holders to post their public key if they want to continue having access. Therefore, please get the previous (well, "current") coordinator to mail the list that he is happy to hand over to you! I've added another option to the message dialog: it now asks if it should delete the file, rename it or close and let the user deal with it.
