I reverted the whole thing.

control-center branched for 2.18

2007-03-19 Thread Rodrigo Moya
gnome-control-center module has been branched, so now there is a
gnome-2-18 branch for 2.18 development.

As for plans:
* rename the tarball at last to gnome-control-center
* capplets merging. Still in discussion, so nothing definitive yet here
* g-s-d refactoring to, at last, simplify it and reduce code duplication

Adding gnome-doc-list and r-t to the cc list; please don't forget them
in future branching notices (complete list of who should be cc is in
bold at http://live.gnome.org/MaintainersCorner, which is linked to
from the bugzilla product overview page,

gtk-engines in desktop

2007-03-19 Thread Claude Paroz
Hi all,
As of bug #420099, Vincent noticed that gtk-engines has been omitted in
GNOME 2.18 desktop category, probably because it didn't contained any
strings to translate in 2.16.

I fixed it today, so 33 new strings will appear soon in l10n.gnome.org.
AFAIK, they are still scarcely used in other apps.

Regards.

I believe it's the most important to translate right
now, yes. Our documentation is generally written in
English, so it's not that big of a deal for the Style
Guide and Handbook to be English-only.

On the other hand, the Handbook might provide information
that's useful to translators as they're translating our
documentation.

The Style Guide, though, is largely English-dependent.
There's probably some information in there that's useful
to other languages, but a direct translation probably
wouldn't make much sense.

I do think a properly *localized* (as opposed to simply
translated) version of the Style Guide would be useful.
But I don't know how we can coordinate such localizations
with our current tools.

I'm CCing gnome-i18n to get ideas.

String freeze breakage: gnome-applets and libgnomekbd

2007-03-19 Thread Sergey Udaltsov
Hi all

There was one obsolete .schemas.in file in gnome-applets/gswitchit
(these entries were not used in 2.18 anyway). Now the gconf data is
updated and moved into libgnomekbd (where it is actually used). There
are just 3 gconf entries and they are only visible in gconf-editor and
such - so these are quite low priority strings.

Sorry for the trouble.
