Thanks, l10n.gnome.org updated.

String additions to 'gvfs.gnome-2-24'

2008-10-16 Thread GNOME Status Pages
This is an automatic notification from status generation scripts on:
http://l10n.gnome.org/.

There have been following string additions to module 'gvfs.gnome-2-24':

+ Enter password for ftp as %s on %s

Note that this doesn't directly indicate a string freeze break, but it
might be worth investigating.

Hi Alex,

your commit
http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gvfs/branches/gnome-2-24/daemon/gvfsbackendftp.c?r1=2044r2=2051
broke the string freeze.
Please revert and ask for a freeze break first.

gnome-font-viewer and gnome-thumbnail-font

2008-10-16 Thread Davyd Madeley
Hey all,

It turns out that these were accidently removed from
gnome-control-center right before the 2.24 release (whoops).

I've just finished bringing them back and hooking them up to build again
in trunk.

Unfortunately when people updated their translations, the strings from
these binaries were dropped. I'm currently attempting to write a script
to recover the translatable strings from the SVN diffs.

Assuming that I can recover the strings, do you suppose it would be
possible to backport this to 2.24?

Also see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=555215 .

Can you attach the patch to bug 555215? I'd also first like to see
feedback by the g-c-c/gnome-utils hackers if a patch will be accepted.

Virtaal 0.2 released

2008-10-16 Thread F Wolff
Hallo everybody

I realise not all of you might be following the news of our project, so
I'm sharing the news with my fellow GNOME translators. I'm interested to
hear what you think.

Keep well
Friedel

 Forwarded Message

I am very pleased to announce the first official release of Virtaal.
Virtaal is a new program developed as part of the Translate project -
the community creating Pootle and the Translate Toolkit. This is a
natural extension to our range of software to help localisers work more
efficiently and with higher quality.

Virtaal is a graphical translation program with a simple layout. It is
built on the powerful API of the Translate Toolkit. “Virtaal” is an
Afrikaans play on words meaning “For Language” and sounds like the word
for translation.

Some features that might be of interest:

 * Support for many localisation formats: Gettext .po and .mo, XLIFF,
TMX, TBX, WordFast TM, Qt .ts and .qph.

 * Autocorrect and autocomplete

 * Syntax highlighting and display of comments and context

 * Searching with regular expressions and Unicode normalisation

 * Spell checker for the translation and original text

Read more about Virtaal and our plans for the future:
http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/virtaal/index
We welcome people to join our project.

You can download Virtaal here:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=91920package_id=270877

The Windows setup.exe installer contains all necessary dependencies.

In the Translate Project you will also find installers for Fedora,
Mandriva, and soon Debian and Ubuntu. Remember that you will need
Translate Toolkit 1.2 with all of its dependencies, and a few more that
are mentioned on the Virtaal website.

Thank you to everybody who helped with programming, testing, translation
and packaging.

Happy translating
Friedel

gnome-applets string pseudo-changes in 2.24

2008-10-16 Thread Callum McKenzie
I have just added explicit type annotations for the GtkBuilder files to
the gnome-applets POTFILES.in in the gnome-2-24 branch. This will mean
that strings will be marked for translation in the GtkBuilder files that
may not have been previously. All the strings were previously in .glade
files and should be unchanged from the 2.22 release so hopefully
translations are already available.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is necessary to
avoid untranslated menus. See bug 555656 for details.

Re: gnome-font-viewer and gnome-thumbnail-font

2008-10-16 Thread Davyd Madeley
I spoke with Rodrigo, who originally committed the change to delete it.

We agreed that dropping the fontilus and themus vfs methods made sense,
since they no longer work, but the font viewer and thumbnailer (whch
were in the same dir) really should have stayed, since they have no
replacement.

(GNOME Specimen could be a replacement, but it currently lacks the
functionality, and is not part of Desktop).

So the plan was to bring back the viewer and the thumbnailer for at
least 2.24 and then look at addressing the problem properly. I agree
that gnome-control-center is not really a sensible place for the
binaries, nor is gnome-utils, but g-c-c had the advantage of at least
being able to recover the translations, etc.

I'll reopen the bug with this text.

Davyd, this bug fix will give a lot of work to the pt_BR l10n team, and
possibly to other teams as well. Please make the 2.14.1 tarball as close
to the deadline as possible.

Thanks in advance!
