String break request for Orca
This has come back to spank me square in my butt. I need to change: _("%s level %d") to: _("%(role)s level %(level)d") Although my testing and testing from a Hungarian translator (Hammer Attila) showed that the first form worked, another Hungarian translator (Gabor Kelemen) ended up being able to coax intltool into being more picky. So, we need to go with the parameterized form. Gabor has also shown me that "msgfmt -cvo /dev/null hu.po" will detect translations that attempt to translated the parameter names (e.g., "(role)" and "(level)" in the above), alieving my concern about those things getting translated by accident. Ah well, for the better, I guess, Will ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n

No, do the right thing :-) Thanks. Claude P.S. Approval 1/2 to add the new string. Actually, I would even be in favor of adding context to BOTH "unknown" strings, even the one that was already there. People will have to translate that new string anyway, so better take the opportunity to fix the errors in the existing string, that no doubt will currently be wrong for many languages. — Wouter signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n

New string in libgweather
Hey, We had a string "Unknown" that wasn't marked for translation in the timezone selector. I made it translatable with a context, and this adds a new string in libgweather. Just saw not that there was already a "Unknown" string used somewhere else without context. I think it's bad to reuse it (the result will be wrong in french, eg -- "inconnu" vs "inconnue"). If you guys think it's bad to add the new string, I can just re-use "Unknown" without context.
