I checked the gnome-doc-utils.mo file, and it contains those translated strings.
Ubuntu next release is shipping 0.19.5 version of g-d-u.

I'm going to open a bug in Ubuntu anyway. Will see what happens.

Ciao.

Tomboy branch gnome-2-30 created

2010-03-31 Thread Sandy Armstrong
Hey folks,

The hook that should have sent ya'all an email when I branched for
GNOME 2.30.x failed, so this email is just to let you know that Tomboy
has, in fact, branched. The name of the branch is (surprise)
gnome-2-30.

Tomboy 1.2.x stable releases will come from gnome-2-30, whereas new
unstable 1.3.x releases will come from git master.

Cheers,
Sandy

Those strings are provided by gnome-doc-utils. It looks like
they're translated in it.po in git. Maybe Ubuntu is using an
older release of gnome-doc-utils?

String additions to 'gcalctool.gnome-2-30'

2010-03-31 Thread GNOME Status Pages
This is an automatic notification from status generation scripts on:
http://l10n.gnome.org.

There have been following string additions to module 'gcalctool.gnome-2-30':

+ "Show %d decimal _places"

Note that this doesn't directly indicate a string freeze break, but it
might be worth investigating.

Re: Solang: redundant strings in Tags menu?

2010-03-31 Thread Debarshi Ray
> By the way, the "Show All Tags" bit - can it not be pushed into
> preferences as a setting ?

First of all, Solang does not have a conventional preferences dialog.
Atleast not yet, and we are not in an hurry to add it. The idea is to
make things "just work" and avoid providing a knob for every possible
setting.

Secondly it is possible that people might want to use a tag attached
to a bunch of PDFs with photos. Novices may not need it, but it is not
that uncommon either. eg., the same tag can be used to mark conference
slides and photos. In such cases, going through a Edit -> Preferences
-> ... -> Show All Tags can be tedious. So we wanted to provide it as
a menuitem, and as a context menu entry for the TagView along with
other common tasks like creating and attaching tags. That way its not
distractive, and still quickly reachable.

Happy hacking,
Debarshi

I wrote also on IRC, but probably here is better for people who are not online.

What you are looking there is Yelp showing Empathy help in Italian,
but some of the "sections" title remain in English.

Can somebody confirm this problem on a distro other than Ubuntu? In
case it is a real problem, ideas on what could it be?

I didn't open a bug, wanted to hear what others think and make sure it
is a real problem.

Ciao.

Tag being an element of meta-data/context that you add to the
images/collection, the menu represents the activities that can be
undertaken around it. Hence, even though they do repeat the "tag" word
a number of times, I'd say that trying to find alternatives might make
it less useful.

By the way, the "Show All Tags" bit - can it not be pushed into
preferences as a setting ?

Solang: redundant strings in Tags menu?

2010-03-31 Thread Debarshi Ray
Screenshot: http://rishi.fedorapeople.org/solang-tags-menu.png

Our tags menu was borrowed from F-Spot. However, the strings have
always looked a bit redundant to me because they repeat the word "tag"
or "tags". Since I am making a change to Solang to add the "Show All
Tags" [1] menuitem, I thought it would be nice to have your opinion on
the other things as well.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Debarshi

[1] Not all Tracker tags might be relevant to photos. eg., a large
number of tags originate from PDF files. It makes sense to show only
those tags which relate to photos, or have been newly created and not
yet attached to something.

Looks ok¹, it just takes time processing everything (as there was some
general xsl changes that required many documents to be rebuilt).

The pictures I committed to git do not get uploaded to the release notes?
Am I doing something wrong or is the process stuck?

The two problem pictures are:
rnusers.hamster.jpg
and
rnlookingforward.aj.png

I have committed them yesterday and today (twice, I did remove and commit
again in the hopes of forcing a refresh).

They have the same names as the pics in he C locale:

http://git.gnome.org/browse/release-notes/tree/help/C/figures/rnusers.hamster.jpg?h=gnome-2-30

http://git.gnome.org/browse/release-notes/tree/help/C/figures/rnlookingforward.aj.png?h=gnome-2-30

Yet, they do not refresh:

Compare:

http://l10n.gnome.org/module/release-notes/help/gnome-2-30/bg/images/

and
