I'd like to ask for blanket forgiveness for changes in the
 control-center network panel.
There will be several string and UI changes as we work hard to bring
this panel to an acceptable functionality level for 3.0, and asking
for approval for each individually is going to be too cumbersome.

I have already committed the following changes:
 - Add Option buttons
 - Shorten some strings to avoid resizing (Secure HTTP proxy - HTTPS proxy)

Just for the record... translating this string in Catalan will be
Servidor intermediari HTTPS so even if in English it will not resize
it surely will be on Catalan (and I'm sure 80% of other languages).

Cheers,

 - Add mnemonics

String freeze for gbrainy 1.63

2011-03-13 Thread Jordi Mas

Hello,

I have just frozen the strings for gbrainy version 1.63. Only bug fixes
will be committed from now.

If you want to update your translations you have until the 16th of March
2011 15.00 GMT. If you are working or planing to work on updating your
translations, please send me your work before then.

I suggest to check the recommendations[1] when updating gbrainy
translations. Notice also that the documentation has been also updated [2].

gbrainy 1.63 is a stable version, please make sure that you commit your
changes to the stable branch [3] and [4]. This is a good opportunity to
fix in stable any translation done in HEAD or to update your translation.

Jordi,

I just read http://jeff.ecchi.ca/blog/2011/03/13/on-gtkswitch/, and
realized I don't know if/how is GtkSwitch to be translated. Are the On

I added a comment pointing to this bug report:

Basically it's on/off, or I/O.

no.

both the ON state and the OFF state strings are translatable, and
have a nice big translator comment, like a cursory glance to the gtk+
pot file would have shown:

/* Translators: if the on state label requires more than three
   * glyphs then use MEDIUM VERTICAL BAR (U+2759) as the text for
   * the state
   */

/* Translators: if the off state label requires more than three
   * glyphs then use WHITE CIRCLE (U+25CB) as the text for the state
   */

ciao,
 Emmanuele.

String additions to 'gnome-settings-daemon.master'

2011-03-13 Thread GNOME Status Pages
This is an automatic notification from status generation scripts on:

There have been following string additions to module
'gnome-settings-daemon.master':

+ Configuring new printer
+ Missing printer driver
+ No driver for this printer.
+ No printer driver for %s.
+ Please wait...

Note that this doesn't directly indicate a string freeze break, but it
might be worth investigating.

String change in gnome-session

2011-03-13 Thread Matthias Clasen
I'd like to commit the string change in
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=644461

This is about the startup message we show when we have to go to
fallback mode because of lack of hw accel. The current string is not
grammatically correct and reads a bit awkward.

It is a fairly new string and may not yet be widely translated anyway.

Ok, to commit ?

You're right. gnome-web-photo is currently dead, so there's no need to

gnome-web-photo now has a new, active maintainer, so I think you can put

No, there was yet another bug[1] about that string, and the proposed commit
fixes only one of the two issues (the run verb and the misleading
graphics hardware).

BTW (and a little polemical), William was yet known to the existing bug, I
fail to see the reason to open a separate bug :/
