Hi Russel, Just to give you a few updates of what have been happening in Myanmar L10N Team. They have been working very hard over the last few months and has set up a few milestones in October and what they really need is to have commit rights and to have a coordinator within the team that can be fully devoted to it. Almost all the members are living in Myanmar and they meet up at least once a week. So you can imagine the current uncertainity which is not very encouraging for the community. I got release-team approval for the new help menu items in Nautilus, so I've pushed some new strings. These are titles and tooltips of menu items. "_All Topics" "Search for files" "Locate files based on file name and type. Save your searches for later use." "Sort files and folders" "Arrange files by name, size, type, or when they were changed." "Find a lost file" "Follow these tips if you can't find a file you created or downloaded." "Share and transfer files" "Easily transfer files to your contacts and devices from the file manager." Translators won't have to do anything besides translate the help. Anyway, I don't think we need to wait for a desktop-wide push to make a few menus better. Ravi, There is no committer yet from the Burmese team. The process to get a member of the Burmese team to have a Git account is 1. See http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/RequestingAnAccount for the full details on getting a Git account. In the rest of the steps I describe some of the technicalities. 2. Visit http://l10n.gnome.org/ and create an account. In the account settings, select the Burmese team. Submit a significant number of translated PO files as are requested at http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/RequestingAnAccount "A significant number" is generally interpreted as a handful of complete translations. Handful of string changes in Orca
Hey all. In my excitement (and desperation) to get Orca's introspection port completed, I'm afraid I forgot to announce a handful of small string changes. (A few new labels in the Orca GUI, updated copyright listing.) :-/ I'm really sorry about that. Tonight I made one minor additional string change Voice Type -> Voice type to be consistent with the rest of the GUI's capitalization. Whilst correcting that error, I added a couple of translator notes to define what we mean by voice type. Lastly, due to some pre-GUI-freeze GUI changes, I will need to update Orca's documentation. Today I did the bulk of the string removals. But I still have a bit to write and, mostly, a handful of existing strings to move around. Shaun tells me that String Freeze doesn't apply to documentation strings. Nonetheless, I will do my best to keep the changes to a minimum, finish this work ASAP, and let you all know when it's completed. In the meantime, I wanted to give you the heads up so that you don't update your translations only to find they need re-updating. And for those who like to throw caution to the wind and proceed, the areas to avoid are: * orca/help/C/preferences_general.page * orca/help/C/preferences_speech.page Everything else should be safe.
