Chuck Norris single-handedly translated GNOME into 60 different languages during the string freeze period.

I don't know about other languages, but in Macedonian it would look
pretty ugly since Desktop is translated into two words - Работна
површина - try having that on your panel. :)

New Team Leader for Macedonian

Hi list,

I would like to inform you that I will no longer be able to maintain the
position Team Leader for the Macedonian translation team at GTP. I've
already found and trained a replacement. My successors name is Jovan
Naumovski, his e-mail address is jovan at lugola net. He's already a
member of this list and an active contributor. I've explained most of
the essential stuff to him so I guess there won't be any problems with
him taking over.

So, contact him and do whatever you need to do.

I ll be around, will be maintaining a small number of modules and
helping out on the list as much as I can.

It was really fun working with all of you nice people. ;)

Just noticed the same problem that Clytie encountered. I successfully 
commit an update translation for gnome-volume-manager, acctually did it 
a dozen times but I don't see that the change on the statistics page. 
Last time I commited the file I checked to see if the comment would show 
up on cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/ as it did very fast for some other stuff I 
commited eariler, but the last comment was from the last commit more 
than a month ago.



The way to do things, IIRC, is to do a 'cvs update -r gnome-2-12'. Don't
forget to back up your data in case it does anything nasty! If you ever
need to switch a working directory back to HEAD, use 'cvs update -A'.
Translators would probably want to keep a seperate copy of both around,
up to them.
 

I've tried this too. Tried even deleting the whole gnome-volume-manager 
directory and the did the checkout with -r gnome-2-12, commited the 
translation again but no luck.


Clytie, if you did resolve this, how did you do it?

The System menu

Where do I find and translate the string for the System menu on the 
upper GNOME panel?


I want to change the string's translation. I have translated gnome-panel 
100% and there's a msgid string there just after the Applications and 
Places strings that says Desktop Enviorment|Desktop. I remember that 
this was the string that I fixed the last time I edited the file for the 
translation of GNOME 2.10 but now when I change it, compile the .po file 
and replace the exsisting .mo file in the latest breezy with the newly 
compiled .mo file I get the thing in English. Everything else is in the 
localized language but only that menu is in English. Is that the right 
string? I can't find a string in any of my .po files with msgid System 
and I don't see why I should look for this in another file than in 
gnome-panel.


I've checked this in the bulgarian translation and there it was 
translated „Система“ but I couldn't find that string in the bulgarions 
.po files either.


Help?

Are you sure that you're compiling the appropriate version of the po 
file? Maybe you've downloaded gnome-applets po file for Gnome 2.12 and

Bug in the .pot file

When listing partially supported countries you've listed Macedonia with 
1.5 milion citizens. Macedonia has exactly 2 milion 71210 citizens.

How do I add the macedonian translation to the cvs? I'm sorry but a
pretty new to working with cvs.
