gtranslator 1.9.5 debs for Ubuntu

2009-04-28 Thread Antonio Lima
Hi all,

I've finally built gtanslator-1.9.5 packages for Ubuntu jaunty. They are
available in my launchpad ppa [1]. This time I just updated from 1.9.4
which is already in jaunty. There are only packages for jaunty because
1.9.5 depends on gtk = 2.16.

Hope these can be useful!

PS: Please let me know if you find some problem with the package!

  Hi,

epiphany-extensions download link is not working at DL, is it because
the migration is not finished yet?

  http://l10n.gnome.org/POT/epiphany-extensions.master/epiphany-extensions.master.es.po

This happened when the POT file was not buildable during the migration.
Just tell me when you find such errors and I can trigger an update
 manually.

I've found another dead link:
http://l10n.gnome.org/POT/anjuta-extras.master/ui.master.pot

I think yesterday I also encountered one but can't recall where now. If
I remenber I'll mail it also.

I don't think it is really possible, at least for me, to review
gcompris in 2 days and really have it in a really good quality. Is
there any chance of a longer deadline?

Sure, how long do you need ?

Because I have some translations I really need to end this week I would
need until March 16. Is that ok?, I really can't do faster.

Sorry if it's too much. This does not mean I won't have it ready before
that day, I just don't want to not say I will and then miss the
target :). I also want to have the portuguese language coordinator OK
for this. I've already emailed him.

Ok, then I will make the release this week end because many people are
waiting for it. I am especially concerned by distro not picking the
latest GCompris because we do not yet support python 2.6.

After all I think it will be possible for March the 8 :D. Duarte,
language coordinator, will email you today about this today.

We'll review the file. Sorry

Just by curiosity, is it the Magalães project shipping gcompris?

 It seems so:
 http://assistencia-gratis.blogspot.com/2008/09/magalhaes-portatil-e-escolinha.html

They mention GCompris along Microsoft and Intel as corporations behind
 this project ;)

I have installed 1.9.4~ppa-4 to jaunty. And it, expect plugins, works
correctly as far as I can check. Almost plugins is not checked yet,
because I don't know how to use. However it seems that a part of
  plugins work correctly.

I'm glad the packages are of use to you :).

Could you update gtranslator in official ubuntu repository before
 Ubuntu's Feature Freeze (Feb 19)?

This is already in progress [1] so if your are running jaunty expect an
update or subscribe to the bug report so you can know right away when
the package is uploaded.

Gtranslator 1.9.4 packages for Ubuntu

2009-02-06 Thread Antonio Lima
Hello,

As you now gtranslator is heading to a 2.0 release and it has some new
great features. If someone is interested in testing the current beta
(1.9.4), I've created some packages for Ubuntu (Intrepid and Jaunty)
which are available in my ppa [1].

I've tested the packages for some days now and I must say they are
sufficiency stable to work with. Of course some ocasional crash can
happen.

All plugins, except for the dictionary plugin, are built. The missing
dictionary has todo with a missing library in Intrepid. I've tested all
plugins except svn (but the plugin is loaded and apparently functional).

Hope you find these packages useful.

 Thanks again,
 Peter.

Btw, what library is missing for dictionary plugin? It is

 libgdict

For the brave - and lucky - ones running jaunty or about to upgrade
(Peteris, that's for you) I've built gtranslator packages with the
dictionary plugin activated.

I'm not able to run jaunty right now, (mobilie broadband connection, I
need and ISO!) so I did not test if it works. When someone has the
opportunity to test it please let me know.

Packages are available at:

Thanks!
