ANNOUNCE: PiTiVi 0.15.1 release

2012-02-27 Thread Jeff Fortin
Hello all,

Just a quick note to announce the availability of the 0.15.1 release of
PiTiVi. It is a small bugfix release to make it compatible with
GStreamer plugins "good" >0.10.29. It also provides updated
translations.

Tarballs are available on
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/pitivi/0.15/

Jean-François, on behalf of the PiTiVi team.

ANNOUNCE: Pitivi 0.91 released

2013-10-04 Thread Jeff Fortin
Hi everyone,

A quick announcement for our awesome localizers: Pitivi 0.91 is out!
(a blog post with details will come later)

If you were waiting for things to stabilize a bit before updating
translations, this alpha is probably an interesting release for you as
it is expected to be followed by other releases (beta, 1.0, etc.) with a
shorter cycle than the one we've just finished.

Also, if someone feels particularly heroic and would like to be the new
user manual writer, I'd definitely need help with that, the current user
manual is badly outdated and covers the 0.15.x series :)

Cheers!

P.s.: please keep me c.c.ed if replying (I'm not subscribed to the ML)

Recent AppData and desktop file changes in Pitivi

2013-11-08 Thread Jeff Fortin
Hi all,

It was recently brought to my attention that the appdata xml file in
Pitivi was incorrectly marked for translation (I had simply set the
whole description tag to be translatable, instead of each of its
subtags) and would thus have markup showing up in strings.

This should now be fixed with this commit:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/pitivi/commit/?id=6933a56

These changes also make the file pass the "appdata-validate" check and
prevent translation errors from making the xml syntax invalid.

So basically this is just to let you know that:

- The name and summary fields have been replaced by making proper use
(AFAIK) of the pitivi.desktop key entries and moving contents into the
description section, so the first paragraph changed a bit.

- The big string was split into individual strings

Thanks!
(please keep me in c.c. if you wish to reply)

Incoming Pitivi 0.94 release

2014-10-25 Thread Jeff Fortin
Hi all,

Sorry for the late heads up as it just came to my mind: we're at the
point where Pitivi is in a releasable state, I'm probably going to
release 0.94 next week-end. So if you've been waiting for things to
settle down a bit, now's your chance to update the translations this
week.

It should be noted that the user manual's contents were overhauled
significantly. While mostly stable, I expect that more changes will come
on that front eventually, so unless you're feeling zealous, you may
decide to wait for another release cycle to update its translations.

Thanks!
Jeff
