I object. The language code to be used for Dari is fa_AF, not prs.

2008-06-23 Thread Mazdak Kiani
Salam hasib,

You can start translating right know!

You should take a bugzilla account, then you must start translating po files
and send them to team coordinator (me).

Yes, taking coordinationship is almost complete and our language iso code is
PRS.

Best Regards,
Mazdak

please let us know...

Mazdak: do you finish taking coordinationship?

Quoting Roozbeh Pournader lt;[EMAIL PROTECTED]gt;:
gt; Are you sure? You want to translate GNOME into a language that has not
gt; been spoken for 24 centuries and its whole corpus can fit in one book?

There is precedence for deceased languages in Gnome - there is an Olde
Englisc team (ang) (though nothing's been done for a few years) as
there is for Latin.

Both languages deader than the proverbial dodo.

Mazdak, do I understand you correctly that you want to translate GNOME
into Dari as it is spoken in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan? If
so, it has ISO 639-3 code prs.
http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=prs

Maybe you call the language old Persian there, and that led to
confusion. You provided the ISO code [peo], which belongs to a
different language as a lot of people pointed out here.

Best regards,
Erdal
