I referred to https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/da/apcs02s05.html
And done steps

make validate-mr
git status

Status is saying po/mr is ready.
but when i try to push using git push it is giving error.

remote: HTTP Basic: Access denied
fatal: Authentication failed for '
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp-help.git/'

I am using my gnome account.

Please help me how i can push and upload marathi files for GIMP user manual.

2019-10-01 Thread Snehalata Shirude via gnome-i18n
Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I live in India. We are working on localization of GIMP for our local
language "Marathi".
Our Project Investigator Prof. Joshi is coming at London for few days in
this month.
I am finding someone living in London working on localization or open
source community so that he could arrange meeting.

The discussion can be helpful to contribute us more.

If any one, please let me know the information like name and contact
details (email address, etc.)

Thanking you,

Sincerely,

Regarding Display of User Interface in Marathi ...

2019-07-05 Thread Snehalata Shirude via gnome-i18n
 Hello,

We downloaded GIMP 2.10.10 the latest release for GIMP. We tried to use it
using Marathi language. But we are not able to see the menus and submenu
names properly in Marathi. After clicking on particular option of the
submenus we can not view marathi words properly. What can be the problem
for menus and submenus names then? Please help in this regard.
The same problem was there in previous release of GIMP.

Thanks

Re: Wrong context in 2 strings

2019-02-07 Thread Snehalata Shirude via gnome-i18n
Hi,

If the meaning does not change, i think it can be directly changed using
find and replace. So it should not be directly related to the translation
process as such.

Thanks

About gimp user manual translation...

2018-09-12 Thread Snehalata Shirude via gnome-i18n
Hello all,

I am snehalata from India. Our team at North maharashtra university
starting translations for gimp user manual into Marathi. In that direction
we downloaded repository from docs.gimp.org using git and then running make
po-mr command we got all po files on our machine. We also found user manual
po files from website l10n which are master branch. There are some small
difference in both files such number of strings and sequence. It is needed
for us to decide which po files we should use for translation purpose now.
Please tell us...

Thanks to all..

Help needed for user manual translation

2018-09-08 Thread Snehalata Shirude via gnome-i18n
Hi,

For localization of GIMP User-Manual we clone gimp user manual repository
into folder on /home/snehalata/SBS/gimp-help-2.
Modified configure.ac file added mr and added files paths in AC_CONFIG_FILES
Then created a new folder named mr in po folder of GIMP repository
We put then all translated .po files into mr folder
We run ./autogen.sh command
We referred the link
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp-help/blob/master/TRANSLATING
Then we are running make html-mr command to see user manual of local
machine in translated form that is in marathi
But we are getting error like this:

root@Snehalata-Desktop:/home/snehalata/SBS/gimp-help-2# make html-mr
[POT] pot/preface.pot
/bin/bash: ../../../../../tools/xml2po.py: No such file or directory
Makefile:1238: recipe for target 'pot/preface.pot' failed
make: *** [pot/preface.pot] Error 1

Please help us how to resolve this error...

I tried to put on paste bin but its not giving access ..

From North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon India regarding GIMP

2018-09-03 Thread Snehalata Shirude via gnome-i18n
Hello,

Good day !

We are very much thankful to you for adding Marathi translations in a new
release of GIMP and publishing news officially on GIMP website!

Prof. Manish Joshi from North Maharashtra University conveyed you that the
translation is initiated as Project of Rajya Marathi Vikas Sanstha, Mumbai.
In this project it was decided to have regular review meetings to monitor
the progress and also check the quality of the translation with the help of
experts. We will organize a state level workshop inviting users of GIMP,
Marathi language experts, localization experts etc.

In a review meeting organized on 21st of Aug, it is discussed that some of
the strings should be modified so that correct and exact meaning be
conveyed. Many such strings are identified in the meeting. Hence, we have
decided to have look at all the strings and re translate it. We shall once
again upload the modified .po files in near future.

One important questions raised that whether the translation can support
“Open Type Font Features”? We are getting a Devanagari script श whereas we
wish to have this -> [image: image.png].

Along with the work of translating GIMP user interface into Marathi, we
have also planned for localization of GIMP *user manual *into Marathi.

The steps for translation of user manual are obtained from website
https://gitlab.gnome.org/. We downloaded gimp-help files containing folders
like docs, images, make.d, omf, po, quickreference, src, stylesheets,
tools, and web. The clone command we could find is-

“ git clone g...@gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/
” . When we try to register to
this site, it is not allowing us to create account. How we can create a
GNOME account doing this work on https://gitlab.gnome.org/?

We noticed that there are .po files for GIMP User Manual on website
https://l10n.gnome.org/module/gimp-help/

Which files we should refer whether from https://gitlab.gnome.org/ or from
https://l10n.gnome.org/module/gimp-help/?

We are not able to understand what exactly should we do with the files we
downloaded from both the web sites? Where the repository should be kept to
clone? And important query is how we can check on local machine the
translations? It is very much important for us to know about the exact
process that we can follow to perform user manual translation.

We are eagerly waiting for the response in this regard on this e-mail
address.

Once again we express our thanks!

Prof. Manish R. Joshi

Issue regarding uploading of translation

2018-07-06 Thread Snehalata Shirude via gnome-i18n
 Hello everyone,

We are doing translation project - GIMP software for Marathi langauge.
We translated almost all .pot files using notepad++. We then saved that
.pot file as .po file.
Then tried to upload the .po file using gnome account but we are getting
the error ".po file does not pass “msgfmt -vc”. Please correct the file and
try again."

And if we try using Poedit to save that file the translated strings gets
disappear.

Please anyone can help us to solve the issue.

Waiting for the response
