 might be worth investigating.

 Hi Federico,

Could you please branch Sabayon for 2.28 at a point before these
changes, or maybe ask for a string freeze break?

By the way, this string seems to be a bit confusing. Reading the code,
it appears when sabayon fails a os.unlink() call.

Unfortunately, the actual effect of os.link() is remove a file, not
break a file system link.

OK to file a bug (or directly change it on git/master)?

This is a great idea; thanks, Claude! Users of GNOME 2.26 indeed are
using sabayon-2.24.x. I'll branch 2.26 off of the 2.24 branch.

Done. There is now a gnome-2-26 branch in Sabayon, based on the
gnome-2-24 branch.

For us, it's no use branching. We can simply link the 2.26 release to
the 2.24 branch of Sabayon.

 Hmm, sorry about that.

However, the last release of Sabayon was 2.25.0. There were never any
2.26.x releases. I intend to make 2.27.0 this week; do we still need a
branch for 2.26? I never intend to release that; Sabayon was way too
broken in that time period :(

I'd say that for the release team, it's fine to consider 2.25.0 as
non-2.26. But since it's mainly an issue for translators now, I guess
it's up to them to decide what's better for them.

(Federico: I guess it's okay to have a gnome-2-26 branch that is just a
dead-end ;-))

I guess it works. It'd be a bit painful if there were still some
releases to be expected for 2.26 (since it'd mean translator would have
to push their translations to this branch), but that shouldn't change
anything now.
