Re: help regarding translated file
Hi Pawan, Today at 12:40, Pawan Chitrakar wrote: So i have to change the .desktop.in files and rebuild from source ??? No, you just rebuild from source. .desktop.in files will be converted to .desktop files which includes your translation from a PO file (that's what intltool does for you :). If you really care about how it's done, you can do it manually: intltool-merge -d ./po ./game1/game1.desktop.in ./game1/game1.desktop (and you'll have to repeat this for every .desktop.in file if you don't want to rebuild from source, and then install resulting .desktop files where appropriate, usually /usr/share/applications) Cheers, Danilo ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n
Re: help regarding translated file
This would have a better chance of being answered on the gnome-i18n mailing list. -- Shaun On Fri, 2005-09-23 at 08:50 +0545, Pawan Chitrakar wrote: Dear all, we have translated gnome-games in nepali language but the string are not shown in desktop menus for the names of games. what could have gone wrong please help and advice thanking you in advance regards, pawan ___ gnome-doc-list mailing list gnome-doc-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-doc-list ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n
Re: help regarding translated file
Hi Pawan, You probably wanted to post this to gnome-i18n@gnome.org, instead of gnome-doc-list, so I've changed the CC. Today at 5:05, Pawan Chitrakar wrote: we have translated gnome-games in nepali language but the string are not shown in desktop menus for the names of games. what could have gone wrong please help and advice Those translations are kept in .desktop files, i.e. outside of .mo files. They are installed when you make install a package, so you'll need to recompile from source, or wait until your distributor includes your translation. The same will happen with many other files, such as .xml files (eg. for locations in gweather), .schemas (as seen in gconf-editor), etc. Cheers, Danilo ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n
