String freeze break in EOG

2006-02-27 Thread Lucas Rocha
Hi all,

There are some useless gconf keys on EOG now because there's no
single/collection mode dichotomy anymore. I'm going to unify the gconf
keys related to the image info pane and the window geometry. This
involves removing two strings and changing the following gconf keys
descriptions in the schema:

>From "Last collection window geometry"
To "Last window geometry"

... and ...

>From "Show/hide image information for collection."
To "Show/hide image information."

Any problem with that?

We're already two weeks in the string freeze, and I feel this is not
urgent enough to warrant a freeze break.

Note that any string removal is NOT subject to freeze restrictions.

Cheers,
Danilo

If you don't have i18n approval I think you can add the strings as
untranslatable (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

We don't want to have them that way if we can avoid it. Only in the
case where this doesn't significantly hurt the UI appearance in a
translated desktop, we *may* consider and/or suggest it.

How often do users actually see gconf key strings? They're hidden deep
inside gconf-editor. You don't see them if you don't go looking for them.
