The msgfmt output is identical for the two files, so I don't think it's

After taking a while to figure out where the translation was in
bugzilla[0], there is a comment on the bug saying that it was based of a
very old POT file.

Is the one attached to the bug better than what is currently in svn
trunk (and so should be committed), or is it not worth committing?

Rhythmbox has finally started to sync back up with the Gnome release
cycle, and has branched for a stable series. The SVN branch is called
"RHYTHMBOX-0_10" (under the usual "branches" directory). If there's
anything else I need to tell everyone, please let me know (and CC me).

As mentioned below, the branch is basically string frozen.

Basically. One exception we know we'll need is to add a new string for
an error message required to fix a nasty bug, but the 0.10 series can be
considered pretty much string-frozen.

If we do need to add/modify a string, I'm not quite sure on the protocol
for apps that aren't part of the Gnome desktop. Would it be better to
send an email to the gnome-i18n list when I change it (and if possible
give an idea of the time to the next release), or just note any string
freeze breaks in the mail a week or so before a release I send to give
advance notice of the release?

Will you consider moving to SVN instead? (J/k, ignore this—I keep
saying 'HEAD' instead of 'trunk' and using 'CVS' instead of 'SVN' as
well ;)

Hopefully, this also means a string freeze is in effect for Rhythmbox?

G'day everyone,

We're planning to make a new release of Rhythmbox soon, so if anyone has
updated translations, getting them into cvs would be much appreciated -
probably at the end of the coming weekend.

One thing to note, is that the string for translator credits got changed
from "translator_credits" to "translator-credits" to fix a problem with
some translation software. If there and any locales that haven't been
updated when I do the release, I'll change it so that the credit's
aren't missing.

We're aiming to get the Rhythmbox 0.9.3 release out early next week, so

fix the English wording, so those will probably have gotten marked

Translator CVS accounts are granted based on previous contributions
and on whether the translation team coordinator for the affected
language supports the individual having an account.

So, if you want to eventually have a CVS account, first contribute
some translations to your translation team coordinator, and then make
sure he or she wants to sponsor you having an account, and then follow
the instrutions on http://developer.gnome.org/doc/policies/accounts/.
You can see list of the translation team coordinators at
http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gtp/teams.html.

Upcoming Rhythmbox release

2005-11-14 Thread James Livingston
G'day everyone,

We're aiming to release a new version Rhythmbox (0.9.2) in approximately
a week, and so we've frozen the strings in preparation for the release.
If people can try to get any updated translations in cvs by the coming
weekend, that would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

James "Doc" Livingston
