gnucash in Debian

2006-02-27 Thread Thomas Bushnell BSG

gnucash 1.9.1 has now been added to the Debian experimental archive,
so that those who wish may easily start testing it on Debian.

using 1.9 for the first time sucks

2006-02-27 Thread Thomas Bushnell BSG

So I start 1.9.1, and after I navigate the startup screens, I select
File>Open>Open and open my gnucash accounts file.

I now must sit and wait while the damn thing starts rendering one of
every report I ever requested in 1.8.

This is obnoxious and foul.

Wonderful! Thank you.
Now if only I could figure out why ffi on Solaris/sparc fails during
link-time!

I had to pull some target support from upstream libffi (gcc.gnu.org);
I haven't looked, but maybe there are bits missing in the g-wrap import
for that?

Could be. I haven't looked. And Rotty isn't being responsive to
my emails. :(

I'll try to take a look in the next few weeks as I work on making sure
gnucash 1.9/2.0 builds on solaris.

Any chance you could just update g-wrap to 1.9.6 now? Gnucash 1.8 should
build fine against g-wrap 1.9.6. That would at least make it easier
to build gnucash on FC5 -- it's a pain on FC4 because of the bad interaction
of gcc4, g-wrap-1.3.4, and -Werror.

Should be done now. Note that ffi is linked into g-wrap statically, as
I'd rather not export that for other apps.
