progress bar during launching

2007-09-23 Thread don Paolo Benvenuto
I see that in 2.2.1 the file reading progress bar during program launch
isn't showed any more.

Is this intentional ?

In my case gnucash takes about 30 seconds to read the data file, and all
this time without seeing nothing is something that let the user with a
big question: is gnucash loading the data or not?

If the splash screen is still visible, the message Loading file... will be
shown there. If you've switched off the splash screen, you could consider
activating this again.

I am new to gnucash and want to contribute to the traditional Chinese
 translations.

zh_TW.po was translated by last translator in 2003. I had contacted him
but got no reply. So I submit my work to this list directly.

Very good! Thanks a lot. This work has been committed to our SVN and will be
included in the next release.

Thank you very much for your contribution.

 Hi,

As there has been no response I am posting this again.

Sorry for the late response, I was (and still am) very busy.

The goal is to to have the HBCI banking enabled.
I am using the gnucash-2.2.1.tar.gz source The processor is i586

I installed the following from PACKMAN in this order

 libktoblzcheck1-1.15-42.pm.1
 ktoblzcheck-1.15-42.pm.1
 libaqhbci10-2.3.2-0.pm.1
 libaqbanking16-2.3.2-0.pm.1
 aqbanking-qt3-2.3.2-0.pm.1
 aqbanking-2.3.2-0.pm.1

These are sufficient for _using_ gnucash with hbci,
not for _building_ gnucash with hbci.

What I do not understand is why you want to build it yourself?
Does my rpm[1] not work for you or are there other reasons?

Regards,
Chris

I have downloaded Source code, Windows binary. I am running Ubuntu. How
I install what I have downloaded? Is it the proper download for Ubuntu
or should I have downloaded something else.

No. Install GnuCash through Ubuntu's package manager ... aptitude or
synaptic or whatever it is (I'm not an Ubuntu user, myself).

Depending on which version of 'buntu you're using, different versions might
be available:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?searchon=namesversion=allexact=1keywords=gnucash.
Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that 2.2 is available on any of them, yet. :/

Are we sure we want to live with that? Are you willing to go through each

The vast majority of links won't be broken. How about we just fix broken
links as we come across them?

Oh, I'm happy to make the change, but I dont have the time to go through
the pages and find any broken links. If someone is willing to spend
the time to go and search for broken links and fix them (or tell us
so we can fix them) that's good enough for me.

I'd prefer a proactive search for broken links rather than a we'll
fix them as they show up attitude. But I'm certainly fine making
this change.
