Dear Dave,

Please respond to the list, too.

I'm sorry for the delay, but currently I've no internet access at home.
Thanks for the backtrace. I will look into it.
The backtrace will be even more meaningful, if you substitute

Re: AqBanking - Adapt PATH Variable

2009-04-21 Thread Sebastian Held
Sorry for the late response - no internet access at home :(

Glad to hear it's working (sadly not with your bank).

Sebastian

Good evening Sebastian,

Thank you for your help. On a whim, I tried looking for some American
banks (I am in Canada) and it worked without a problem. The problem
must be that my Canadian banks are not set up for this. Thanks again
for your assistance, but the resolution of this appears to be beyond
the scope of gnucash.

Regards,

Dan

You may try the gnucash-2.2.9 from my site:

This version is known to work on vista32 and includes Qt (as does the
official version). If you face the same problem, you may have ancient
Qt-Libraries lying around, which interfere with Aqbanking.

 Sebastian

Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for your prompt response. I first installed using
gnucash-2.2.9-setup.exe, then installed ActivePerl and Qt, online
banking gave me the error described below, so I re-installed using
gnucash-2.2.9-setup.exe, and the same error materialized.

As a note, my path for Qt reads Qt/2009.01/bin, not 4.5.0 - do I have
the wrong version?

Also, I did not compile from source, but I do not know what PATH is or
how to add anything to it.

Thank you for your assistance,

Dan

 Hello Dan,

If you are using gnucash-2.2.9-setup.exe, no further Qt related changes
 are necessary.
If you are compiling from source, you may need to adapt you path
variable. Go to your control panel, system, environment variables and
add c:\program files\qt\4.5.0\bin to PATH (adapt as necessary).

entry. Any ideas? Can I do something sneaky w/ a .log file?

 Unfortunately no.

You might be able to extend the importer to add PriceDB entries.
 How's you C skill?

Re: updated hebrew translation

2009-04-21 Thread Christian Stimming
Dear Ori,

thanks a lot. I've committed this to our SVN. Thank you very much!

Incidentally, just a few days ago we decided that the previous 2.2.x stable
branch will not be continued any longer. Instead, the current trunk
development branch will be turned into a new stable version 2.4.0 in the near
future. This means the translations will not happen any longer on the 2.2
branch but instead they should happen on the trunk branch, where also some
200-300 strings have changed compared to the last 2.2.9 release. I've already
copied your contributed translation over to the trunk branch and I've also
merged it with the latest trunk translation template. You can download the
merged file here http://svn.gnucash.org/trac/browser/gnucash/trunk/po

Feel free to submit updates as you have time for it. There will probably be a
separate announcement and call for translations as we will be progressing
towards a 2.4.0 release, but this won't be the case before summer or fall of
this year.

Thanks again!

Regards

Christian

GnuCash Translators: Current translation work is done on trunk now

2009-04-21 Thread Christian Stimming
Dear translators of gnucash,

as now explained on http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Translation_Status :

According to recent discussion on the gnucash-devel mailing lists and
(hopefully) http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Release_Schedule, we will be
releasing 2.3.x releases as a preparation of the next stable release 2.4.0.
The 2.3.x releases will be made from the trunk branch, and once 2.4.0 is
released, there will be a 2.4 branch (to be expected in summer or fall of
2009). This means that in preparation for and during the 2.3.x phase, every
translator should work on the *trunk* branch. The old translations from the
2.2 branch have been copied to trunk before the 2.3.0 release, so no work is
lost.

Also, the old translations have been merged with the up-to-date translation
template of trunk, so you can directly download the updated file from
http://svn.gnucash.org/trac/browser/gnucash/trunk/po

Some 200-300 strings have changed from 2.2.x to 2.3.x/trunk.

To repeat this again: The gnucash Subversion repository has several different
branches. As of April 2009, the development for the next stable release is
prepared on the trunk branch. This trunk branch is different from 2.2-branch
which was the previous stable branch, but is no longer in use anymore! You
should therefore translate the trunk branch instead of the 2.2 branch, until
a new stable branch (2.4) will be created.

A String Freeze period will (hopefully) be planned during a later 2.3.x
release. For that period the developers will guarantee that no string changes
will occur, so that you can translate these without any lost work.

Thank you very much for all of your contributions!

Regards,

Christian

We should try to figure this out.. make check should work on all
platforms. (I say should, but might not be able to).

-derek

Hmm. make check works as long as I disable test-lots, it's make
distcheck that gives:

checking for a valid gettext/gmsgfmt installation... no
configure: error: Cannot find Glib Gettext. Maybe you need to
install the gettext package?

make: *** [distcheck] Error 1

however:
$msgfmt --version
msgfmt (GNU gettext-tools) 0.14.5

Some additional information:
config.log from a make distcheck reports
ac_cv_path_GMSGFMT=/sw/bin/msgfmt
and
ac_cv_path_MSGFMT=/sw/bin/msgfmt
but
gt_cv_have_gettext=no

so the test
if test $gt_cv_have_gettext != yes
succeeds, and the build fails because Cannot find Glib Gettext

Does distcheck do something strange with environment variables?

gt_cv_have_gettext=yes when I build either from a tarball or trunk
without distcheck.

 Is your gnucash-2.2.7 patched?

 Sebastian

There does not appear to be any patches applied.

I extracted the source and gnucash_sheet_styles_set_dimensions is
at line 501 in gnucash_style.c

The distribution info is:
MD5 (gnucash-2.2.7.tar.bz2) = 0f3f324c274b136070b769aa10591ccf
SHA256 (gnucash-2.2.7.tar.bz2) =
 aaa558e76427b7a990287089a6e0e5ecb0f4404e0343a7200e1588f60ffab1e8 SIZE
 (gnucash-2.2.7.tar.bz2) = 7362491

The ports makefile is attached. None of the options were used. I
added Makefile.local with one line enabling debug.

Dave

Without synchronized debug information, it's hopeless to find the bug.
The next step you can take is to set a breakpoint at table-gnome.c:189 and
step the program until the error occurs.
Ah - stop it. The one-liner for enabling debug: did you disable optimization,
too?
CFLAGS should not include -O2, but include -O0 -ggdb
