Ah, right. I wasn't thinking of that, I was thinking about from within
GnuCash.

One thing we COULD do is add a UI to GnuCash that lets the user input
the API Key and have GnuCash store it wherever F::Q looks for it, be
that in ~/.fqrc or any other place.

The benefit is the simplicity; it makes it easier for GnuCash users.
But it still allows for manual configuration.

The idea of saving F::Q vars to a .fqrc file looks right to me.

But, you are right on this one: I don't know if I should use registry
for this on windows. On mac I'm pretty sure noone will bother not using
the 'defaults' stuff.

Gnucash 2.6 is indeed still shipped with guile 1.8 on Windows. Gnucash 2.7/2.8
will ship guile 2.0 on all platforms.

update of guile version in windows build

2017-11-14 Thread Sébastien de Menten
hello,

What version of guile is packaged with the windows build of gnucash ?
I have the impression it is the 1.8.8 released in 2010 but am not sure...
if so, would it be possible to upgrade it to 2.0 or 2.2 ?
