Mandrake 7.1 Works!

2000-06-29 Thread Jeff Lapsley

I saw this monring before work that a 7.0 rpm was posted, so I gave it a whirl.
Installed perfectly on my 7.1 system!

Great big THANKS to those of you that got this up so quickly, I really
appreciate it.

I didn't have time to use the program yet, but I did start it to make sure it
at least booted up, so... Great Job!!

MDK 7.1 and the new 1.4.1- Still no go

2000-06-26 Thread Jeff Lapsley

Well, I tried to compile the new version that was posted today, and it breaks
in new and interesting ways :). During the 'make' stage, it bombs on Perl, but
not after MANY unused variable warnings that I assume are normal. Below is the
error line for reference-

"gnucash-engine-perl5_wrap.c:478: warning: `swig_magic_readonly' defined but
not used
make[4]: *** [gnucash-engine-perl5_wrap.lo] Error 1"

Below is my Perl version-
"[root@lxjeff gnucash-1.4.1]# rpm -q perl
perl-5.600-4mdk "

I get more anxious to try this out with every good review I see!

Thanks for the help folks,

Mandrake 7.1 install problems

2000-06-25 Thread Jeff Lapsley

Greetings,

First, I apologize in advance if this is covered somewhere... I really did
diligently try to find this is the archives and elsewhere, and did managet o
fix part of it. Anyway, enough groveling...

I am trying to install version 1.4 on a Mandrake 7.1 system. I first tried the
source, but it complained about guile problems. I installed the latest Guile
packages from Mandrake's cooker, and tried again... same problem. Then I tried
the RPM from ftp.gnucash.org and got Guile and Readline problems.

After searching the Gnucash archives, I found a link to a "fixed" rpm of Guile,
and patched it... all is well with Guile (sort of). Now I only get this:
"libreadline.so.3 is needed by gnucash-1.4.0-1"
It appears to be a similar problem to what Guile was, but I am not capable of
fixing it on my own.

Help is appreciated!
