Mandrake 7.1 install problems
Greetings, First, I apologize in advance if this is covered somewhere... I really did diligently try to find this is the archives and elsewhere, and did managet o fix part of it. Anyway, enough groveling... I am trying to install version 1.4 on a Mandrake 7.1 system. I first tried the source, but it complained about guile problems. I installed the latest Guile packages from Mandrake's cooker, and tried again... same problem. Then I tried the RPM from ftp.gnucash.org and got Guile and Readline problems. After searching the Gnucash archives, I found a link to a "fixed" rpm of Guile, and patched it... all is well with Guile (sort of). Now I only get this: "libreadline.so.3 is needed by gnucash-1.4.0-1" It appears to be a similar problem to what Guile was, but I am not capable of fixing it on my own. Help is appreciated! The RPM manual is not enough Sure, I've gotten good info from www.rpm.org, including the link to the RPM HOWTO. The gnucash.spec file in the 'rpm' directory should probably work with SuSE, too, with perhaps some minor modifications.
