It would require changing the field type.. note that there are already
special keybindings for the number field to allow you to easily
choose the next number. For example, typing + will give you the next
number in the sequence. Adding the auto-complete might be relatively
challenging, but honestly I dont know.
Second, you can always file a Request For Enhancement at bugzilla.
There is a special setting for enhancement requests.
Posting here is good for discussion, but a report should still
be entered in bugzilla so it is not forgotten.
