Re: [GNC] register description field width

2022-05-26 Thread Glenn Fowler
The register width on Windows are in:

C:\Users\#\AppData\Roaming\GnuCash\books

Just find your "book" which will be in the format MyBook.gcm

You can change the numbers for date_width, num_width, etc. You actually
change everything *but* the description field, which takes up the rest of
the available width.

It'll look like this:
date_width=177
num_width=66
reconcile_width=239
balance_width=140
transfer_width=290
debit_width=116
credit_width=116

Thanks Adrien!
Just installing the dependencies with the 4.10 flatpak after sudo apt
update, plus restart, allowed the reports to render correctly again, in
4.4, without actually using 4.1, other than setup.
I haven't looked at logs or anything to try to locate the specific error /
dependency involved.

all of the inputs are from CSV files.  I checked the csv file for the account

could this be a csv import 'feature' ?
i will try to use a quicken format from the source to see if the same occurs

Re: [GNC] register description field width

2022-05-26 Thread Gyle McCollam
Kevin,
First the description field will automatically adjust to take up the balance of
the width, once you adjust the other columns by double clicking. Therefore, it
will fill the screen no matter how long your description actually is. Try
going back to your smaller window size and adjusting again. it is also
possible that is not your issue as it happened to me about 10 months ago. I
found that there was an errant description in one of my scheduled transactions
that had extra characters that weren't visible. Not saying that your issue is
in Scheduled Transaction, just that was where mine was and it affected only one
account. If this happened to you recently, you could try adjusting the
View/Filter by and choose an appropriate number of days. Then try double
clicking on the description column and see if that eliminates the issue. If it
does, then your problem is "older" than the number of days you choose, if not
it might be within the last ?? days you entered. You could reduce that f
 urther and try again to see if it goes away. Then your issue would be between
those 2 amounts of days you choose. Mine description had a lot of blanks with
some symbol at the end. Sorry, I can't remember what symbol that was, but good
luck in finding it, if that is your issue.

Thank You,
Gyle McCollam

I have found how to make the fonts large enough to read through inspection of
the mailing list history. it is now 14pt.
This is great but now the gnucash window has to be almost, 80% of my screen
