Re: [GNC] Strange incorrect due date calculated on a duplicated bill

2022-06-01 Thread Adrien Monteleone
It changed on the posting day, 11/7/21, but that occurred in the wee
morning and the posting time is 10:59. And I didn't enter the bill in GC
until just before posting the thread.

Adrien

Scratch that.

I inadvertently put 11/7/22 as the posting date, so it correctly
calculated the due date as 11/27/22.

But this was a 2021 bill. When I caught the mistake, unposted and
reposted for 11/7/21, it still calculates the due date as 19days instead
of 20.

Gremlins abound.

Maybe there was one day between 11/7/21 and 11/26/21 that existed in
reality but not on the calendar? (I've always wanted an extra day no one
else knows about just so I can get stuff done without interruptions...)

I resorted to editing the bill, setting terms to 'none' and then
manually specifying a due date. (not that it really matters, since it
was long ago paid, but just for consistency)

Regards,
Adrien

Interestingly, I tried unposting and reposting several times yesterday

I normally do not shut down GC when done, but I had a few crashes
yesterday, so I started fresh this morning.

I just tried unposting and reposting, and now it works fine.

I'll leave it up to the gremlins and the moon.

(I know another alternative was to remove the terms for this one invoice
and manually set the date, but I didn't need to in this case)

Adrien

First mismatch happens back in 2012.
It appears that using Report Options / Commodities / Price Source of
Closest to report date is a problem when the date of the report
is between two dates of a Foreign currency exchange rate in Price Database.
However, that is not the only problem, as now using
Last up through report date for Commodities, I get a mismatch
when the Balance sheet report is the same date as a Price Database entry
of a foreign currency.

Re: [GNC] Balance Sheet mismatch

2022-06-01 Thread Fred Tydeman
Tried that. Still not in balance.
Also, tried Show Hidden Accounts (I believe I have none now) => Imbalance.
Also, tried Select All => Imbalance
I am now trying going back in time to see when the first imbalance starts.
How do I get a list of transactions in a specific date range?
Is there a way to find stock/mutual fund prices of zero(0)?

Try going into the Report Options / Accounts / Select Default / Apply.

Also (before running any report) make sure that there is nothing in
Imbalance or Orphan.

Hi Fred

It's more likely that you have omitted one or more newly created accounts?

Try going into the Report Options / Accounts / Select Default / Apply.
