Re: [GNC] Custom Multicolumn Report - Win 10

2023-10-15 Thread Nigel Stapley
Thanks for replies. My experience in the past has always been that when I
apply or close the options window the changes are always implemented. As
far as I can tell this is still the case with single reports. Multi column
reports I have tried do, as some have suggested, require a reload to get
changes implemented. No big deal. Just a couple more key strokes, providing
you get the changes right the first time! I'm a bit limited time wise but I
would note the ones I've tried included a budget report.

Not sure what's going on here - but I updated to 5.4 last week and have
since had issues with generating graphs that use "Closest to report date"
for price data.

Basically, when I have the price of an asset and I try to graph it - it
graphs the asset using the following day's price data. Example: A stock is
worth $10 Day0, $10 Day1, $20 Day2, and $10 Day3 - GNUCash will display a
price of $20 on Day1 and $10 on all other days. I spun up a new db to test
this, and can't seem to figure it out...

If anyone has any idea as to what's going on and how to fix this, I'd

I have an idea about what might be going on but if I am right, this is
not something requiring a "fix"

When you say "stock is worth X on day one" does this really mean NOW (in
the middle oi trading day one) or "as of close of the market day-1"?
Because that is what most of MY on-line value statements mean. The
valuation I see on day one is clearly labeled "at close of the markets
day-1".

Look at whatever you are using to get stock values to find out what date
it is actually using.

Re: [GNC] Urgent Help - Toolbar Icons/Buttons stop working!

2023-10-15 Thread Mitch
Thank you, yes do believe this is the case - window somehow disappears on
selection. However, also frequently use Windows+Tab without and this without
any luck.

Much appreciated.

The possibility suggested by another user that the focus has been 'hijacked' by
a window that is out of view is real. One way to detect that is to press the
Windows key and see what appears. I actually use Windows+Tab frequently to
navigate around the screen.

I have been using gnucash now for 6 months and the following issue has
increased in frequency. Program works fine for short period.

The Toolbar icons /buttons do not work when selected (crash) and unable modify,
edit, delete etc in any of the windows - Accounts, Reports, Budget etc etc.

I have checked all resources, mail lists and not found any reference to this
issue. The only way I have been able to resolve this is to completely removed
the program from the computer/registry and reinstall to a different folder!

This is now the fourth time this has occurred, very frustrating.

Greatly appreciated if you can advise on this issue?

Running Windows 11 & Gnucash 5.4, Please contact me if you need any further
info?

Thank you,
Mitch
