Quite correct. The email requesting confirmation stated that I could just
reply to the email, which I did by hitting reply & send. Not sure what
went awry.

> Let's just welcome the new member, Frederick Bambrough.

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a fraud here. I have posted to the list several
times in the past but I unsubscribe when I've completed my contributions.

Why? This is the weirdest mail list I've ever subscribed to (the list, not
the contributers :-) ). We're asked to CC to the list whereas on every
other list I've used the principal is to ONLY post to the list.

Here one's email address is exposed. Changing '@' to 'at' might have been
OK once upon a time but AI bots are a thing these days, no? That's why I
use a throw-away address.

That aside, I'd rather fetch from a list than receive direct mail. In the
case of gnucash-user, I can be selective in reading from the archive.

Cheers...

[GNC] SHA for GnuCash 5.7 incorrect

2024-07-06 Thread Frederick Bambrough
The SHA hash for GnuCash 5.7 doesn't match the published one, presumeably
because the published one's actually for version 5.6. So it's described.

MacOS version but probably true for the others.

[GNC] Date/ Time locale bug

2019-07-06 Thread Frederick Bambrough
There's a problem with Preferences - Date/Time. The date format option
'Locale' is non functional being fixed on US format. The tooltip also
reports 'Use the date format specified by the system locale' no matter
which option is chosen. This is macOS 10.14.5 and GnuCash 3.6-1 in the UK.
The UK Date format works as expected.

Drag the contents of the .dmg file to your Applications folder. Right
(option/alt) click on the GnuCash icon and select 'Open'from the menu.
Agree that you do want to open the app. You only need to follow this on
the first occasion, macOS will mark the application so it will open
normally thereafter.

Most of changes can be altered. Instructions are elsewhere on the list or
someone will be along shortly. I don't understand the resizing of the buttons
to take labels though. There's tooltips and the effect of highlighting the save

Just been through this myself and had good help on IRC so...

In TextEdit type in;

* {
  font: 12px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}

Save the file in

~/Library/Application Support/GnuCash/config/gtk-3.0

Name it;

gtk.css

You may find that placing the pointer over the 'Reconciled' column in an
account causes the tooltip to flicker rapidly. This can be fixed by
creating a new file in the same place named 'settings.ini'.

This file should contain;

[Settings]
gtk-cursor-theme-size=16

Hope this is helpful
