Re: [GNC] Custom Multicolumn Report - Win 10

2023-10-15 Thread Nigel Stapley
Thanks for replies. My experience in the past has always been that when I
apply or close the options window the changes are always implemented. As
far as I can tell this is still the case with single reports. Multi column
reports I have tried do, as some have suggested, require a reload to get
changes implemented. No big deal. Just a couple more key strokes, providing
you get the changes right the first time! I'm a bit limited time wise but I
would note the ones I've tried included a budget report.

When I make changes to a report settings, then go back to the report I
click the reload button and the changes take effect; also if I make changes
to a transaction, for example
changing the Reconciled from 'n' to 'c'. Have you tried using the reload
button?

Always press Ctrl+R after changing report options or changing the
underlying data. Sometimes it's not necessary, but it never hurts.

Re: [GNC] Custom Multicolumn Report - Win 10

2023-10-06 Thread David H
Hi Nigel,

Clicking the apply button applies the changes within a second or two for me
in the displayed report. Obviously saving the report will save the options
currently selected as the default options for the report so when you
re-open it the saved options will be used.

I'm just using the Account Summary and Cash Flow reports in my testing with
columns initially set to 1 then changed to 2, click apply and the report
updates from 1 column to 2 columns side by side. So working as
expected for me here, when I click apply the report updates.

Perhaps you can provide details of exactly what reports you are
displaying and the options you are setting then I can try an exact match
here. I would point out that if you are displaying a Transaction type
report it does take a while to refresh the display because of the number of
txns,

Cheers David H.

Hi Again

Having looked at this further. I can make changes to the options on a
report but the change is not reflected in the display. This appears to be
true for any change. However if I save the report, close the display and
then reopen it the changes are present. This seems to imply it is program
rather than machine related.

This worked fine for me as well. It could be the result of a transitory glitch
error. I sometimes run into locked file issues when using Gnucash. Normally I
can still make the entries that I want, but if not, reloading Gnucash usually
fixes whatever it is going on.

It works as expected on MacOS Monterey, so might be an issue with the
