[GNC] GNUCash fails to start on Windows 10
Hello, I am a new GC user. I cannot start GNUCash on windows 10, I see the start image and tips of the day box for a second then nothing happens. Tried with 3.4 and 2.6... Tried comparability mode to no avail. Any suggestions will be appreciated! Solved the problem. GC seems to crash on startup when using Israel Local on windows. Changed the Locale from Hebrew (Israel) to English (United Kindom) and now all works OK. It's still marked as new. There's only a workaround in there, namely changing the locale as you found. Hi, I cannot start GNUCash anymore on windows 10, I see the start image and tips of the day box for a second then nothing happens.Everything worked fine until the October Windows 10 updates.I am using the portable version 3.2, but I also tried 2.6.19, 3.2, 3.3 installed on my computer. Hello everyone, I have the same issue that GnuCash won't start for me anymore after receiving a Windows update. It does not work on one of my devices anymore (Windows Version 10.0.17763.195) [I even tried reinstalling Windows on that device] but still works fine on my other (Windows Version 10.0.17763.134). Did you resolve this somehow yet? Have either of you checked in with the Portable Apps folks to see if there’s an issue with their environment on the latest Windows10 update? I have the exact same problem. Trace files are empty and compatibility mode does not help. This is a real blocker - I don't have access to my financial data anymore. I hope there will be a solution for this issue soon! Interesting! I am running GC v3.4 on Window 10 Home and updated to 1809 (Build 17763.292) a couple of days ago. GnuCash continues to run without any problem. I am having exactly the same issue for a couple of months now. GnuCash just stopped working, supposedly after a Windows 10 update. Did a clean reinstall of GnuCash, removed all references in the registry, tried different versions of GnuCash (3.2, 3.4 etc., even 2.6 as far as I remember) and nothing works. If you're using that, go pester the Portable Apps maintainers or uninstall it and install GnuCash from https://www.gnucash.org. If you're using our Windows GnuCash build, or if after installing the latest official release it still crashes, try the latest nightly build from https://code.gnucash.org/builds/win32/maint. If that still crashes then please open a bug report at https://bugs.gnucash.org/enter_bug.cgi. Be sure to include Language and Region settings if they're not English (United States); if you've set a locale in environment.user say what it is. If you can set up MSYS2 and get a stack trace of the crash (https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Stack_Trace) that would be very helpful.
