Re: [GNC] Loss one of my file
For completeness and clarity, this is only an issue (so far as I know) with *GnuCash* on MacOS. It is not generally a MacOS problem. I have often double-clicked other files which resulted in them being opened in their proper app. Regards, Adrien ___ gnucash-user mailing list gnucash-user@gnucash.org To update your subscription preferences or to unsubscribe: https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user If you are using Nabble or Gmane, please see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Mailing_Lists for more information. - Please remember to CC this list on all your replies. Yes, sorry Stan, since the OP was on a Mac I was replying for just that case. I should have made the caveat more specific. Frank kindly did so for posterity. I just now tried it (tested in Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 with GC 2.6.19). Then, of course, when I opened GC in the usual way (via a shortcut that did not specify a data file), it opened the same file I had double-clicked. I have two data files, one that I use 99% of the time and the other, older, that I open very seldom. I set up a key combination in Windows to execute the command "GnuCash" followed by the name of my 99% data file. ___ gnucash-user mailing list gnucash-user@gnucash.org To update your subscription preferences or to unsubscribe: https://lists.gnucash.org/mailman/listinfo/gnucash-user If you are using Nabble or Gmane, please see https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Mailing_Lists for more information. - Please remember to CC this list on all your replies. Re: [GNC] Loss one of my file
You can't double-click the file to open it, if that is what you are doing. GnuCash will always open the last used file. Use File > Open > and then navigate to where file #2 is and open it. Afterwards, both should appear in your 'recent file list' at the bottom of the File Menu. Always start GnuCash from your Dock, and if you need to switch books, use File > Open or the Recent Files list. Even one the earlier file in my back up time machine (under the name of #2) opens to the date of my #1 file. so where did my #2 date goes??? Is it lost forever?? is it any way to recover?
