Re: Python GPG libraries

Does anyone use a GPG library to embed file encryption processes within

As far as I understand, the GPGME-based pygpgme is the
embraced library: https://launchpad.net/pygpgme

The others don't use gpgme but call gpg themselves.

There have been many discussions on this list and elsewhere
discussing the ability to use gnupg as a library from Python.
From what I understand, they all have their issues.
The python-gnupg ones are easier to use, but lack features like signing keys.
pygpgme does not seem to be actively maintained and lacks support for,
e.g. exporting secret keys (or public keys in a --export-minimal) fashion.

Cheers,
  Tobi

 Hi all,

I've just noticed that the 'toggle' command in gpg
2.1.5/6 on Windows doesn't switch key display. It still
seems to switch the keys, since I moved my
authentication private key to a smartcard successfully.

Yes, it does not toggle the display in GnuPG 2.1.x. If you toggle
nothing seems to happen. But if you then, for example, try to adduid
you are told you need to toggle first.

In https://bugs.g10code.com/gnupg/issue1975, Werner says the
[toggle] command should be removed because it does not make much sense
anymore.

That sounds like a useful feature. But if doing such things often, it
may be worth looking at Mike Ingle's Confidant Mail

files of over 4GB.
