I have set Thunderbird to *send* in plain text (converts to plain text if html is present). I always compose in plain text, but I guess that when quoting html formatted text, both formats are present. In fact, while I have all the services working, Telecom are still not working 100%, so it is very likely people in good health is not being able to communicate. > I apologize for this intrusion, and thank in advance any information > that subscribers to this list may have on the situation in the capital > (Santiago), and in coastal resorts like Viña del Mar, Cachagua, > Algarrobo (it's summer time in Chile now). I suppose most people on those places should be OK, a cousin of me, who was on vacations 17 km away of Algarrobo, reported he is fine, so Algarrobo should be fine too, after all, it was not the most heavily affected zone. So I wouldn't worry too much about those zones. Still, there may be incidents with a few old buildings, but chances are most people is ok. -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 Hi, news of the 8.8, or 8.3 earthquake that has stricken Chile have been posted in many on-line dailies. I have tried unsuccessfully to access a few portals in Chile (e.g. White Pages, the dailies) they seem to be down. I have also tried unsuccessfully to phone to some very close friends who live in Chile, not in the affected areas. I have also e-mailed Faramir directly, trying to have news. It is probable that the Telecom infrastructure that has not been affected by the earthquake is swamped with access attempts. I apologize for this intrusion, and thank in advance any information that subscribers to this list may have on the situation in the capital (Santiago), and in coastal resorts like Viña del Mar, Cachagua, Algarrobo (it's summer time in Chile now).
