The speech of the Prime Minister last Friday at the public meeting in Goa might have suited a VHP activist or a Bajrang Dal ideologue but never the Prime Minister of India. Such a rabid and communal speech was never before made by any Prime Minister of this country. The appeal of the BJP National Executive to sectarian consolidation was obviously intended to cover up the miserable performance of the Union Government and of the Governments in the four States including Goa, which the BJP still controls. The policies of the Union Government have created an unprecedented situation with social unrest everywhere and an economic crisis with fall in the growth rate, increasing unemployment and a sharp erosion in the standard of life of the vast majority of our people. In Gujarat itself, economic activity has come to a standstill. There was a 70% drop in the commercial transactions in that State during the last month of March. Gujarat was considered one of the most attractive destinations for investment. That perception is now lost due to instability and turmoil created by the present State Government. The people of Goa will undoubtedly see through the deadly game of the Sangh Parivar and at the next Assembly elections, inflict a resounding defeat on the forces of hatred and communal confrontation which the BJP espouses. [Goanet] A proposal for peaceful co-existance
Uly, Based on your statements below, I am either the prince of darkness, or there are a lot of fools in this world who have been mislead by me. Given the fact that even your brother was my best friend in school until he switched schools suggests I may not be that evil. You and Gaspar can continue to demonize me, but I will try and not reciprocate. Regardless of what has been said and done, I think I know you reasonably well and think that you are pretty decent guy. I do not know Gaspar, so I cant comment on him. This is basically a battle of egos and the false quest for power. For a variety of reasons, you guys feel threatend by GOACOM and have thus lashed out at anything even remotely associated with GOACOM. You guys have attacked goanet, goa sudharop, the computers for goan schools project, Goa Today, Fred Noronha, Joel D'souza and of course me. I have to inform you that except for Joel D'souza, none of your targets are associated with GOACOM. As far as I can recall, Fred's content is free and can be posted by anyone with his permission. GOACOM certainly does not own it. I have been an obvious target because I am a part owner of GOACOM. I would however suggest you and the rest of the netters visit our office in Goa, to see what the real GOACOM is. I (and the rest of the owners) play a minor role in the operations of GOACOM, which is in fact managed by an independent manager who manages a team of programmers and designers. Furthermore, if you think that GOACOM = http://www.goacom.com (the website), you could not be further away from the truth. The website constitues a very small part (20%) of our total man hours. Our energies are focused on developing commerical solutions for our customers. Pursuing this so called campaign against you or anyone else would make no financial sense to us or anyone else. As for who is copying who, I certainly don't claim ownership of all the unique ideas that have originated on the internet. I am sorry I have not been original and creative enough for you. Please note however, this internet thing is just a hobby for me. Unfortunately, I have to focus most of my energies on my real job (which is totally unrelated to the internet) to pay my bills. Unfortunately the internet seems to have become an obsession for you and Gaspar. This is fundamentally the root of the problem. You folks simply can't accept that there can be others there who can co-exist with you guys. You guys want it all. My suggestion for peaceful co-existance is as follows: You guys do your own thing, and we will do ours.
