[Goanet] Enviornment and Destruction Minister
Enviornment and Destruction Minister, we ought to have one in every state. While nothing is being done during the summer or winter season to have the gutters repaired or take precautionary steps should there be a heavy down pour , what's going to happen to the citizens of the state and country at large, floods causing heavy damages to life and property . We as a Govt. of the state should have had our brains on shoulders by taking concrete steps to protect the lives and property and the state at large from such incidents, what were we doing during the summer (eating mangoes,fish and fruits and holidaying with our family at the cost of the taxpayer) what was i as a citizen of the state and a human being who exercises my right to vote and gets and MLA elected doing during summer , having fun too and when problem arose its me who should suffer, in the flooded streets of Goa, where lives have been lost. We cannot and ought not to blame anyone of what is happening in Goa, the blame lies on all of us, who are irresponsible , very forgetful, fun loving relaxing dancing dreaming and just not affected of what negative happens in Goa. Take the Minister to task, take the Govt to task, the muncipal council where we pay taxes and who knows where the money is going in whose account and pocket , we are all happy when we see a few visible places in panjim painted and lit and we think Oh yes development is taking place and that's why we have never progressed in our own state due to our sheer negligence. Learn to exercise your right Goenkars,by questioning the departments and Ministries and Ministers/Chief Minister/Prime Minister etc. just don't sleep and wait for dances if we are not CAREFUL AND HANDICAPPED OF HANDLING OF SUCH FLOODS , GOD FORBID WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO GOA IF WE EXPERIENCE A TSUNAMI??? Pray that GOA will not be a victim of terrorist attacks, pray that Goans are going to be safe , pray that all sacred places be it of a hindu, muslim or catholic or any other religion are well protected , pray that there will be no more murders of priests. With such developments in the first quarter of the year 2006 , we ought to pray that the rest nine months are going to full of peace , happiness, well being of each and every one and lastly Unity , which is missing .Tourist season which has almost started is just not fun anymore after , plans of the terrorist to Bomb few places in goa were discovered , wonder what is the next plan. If Goans are not vigilant enough , they will cry , literally cry and it will be difficult for any Goan to rise again. How can GOANS protect their motherland (GOA ) from Terrorists?? How can GOANS protect catholic churches and holy crosses?? How can GOANS for once stand united against one common cause SECURITY OF GOA , GOANS AND PEOPLE AT LARGE IN GOA Just like there was unity at the time of GARBAGE dumping, can't we goans bring a change in Goa? Where have all the daring youth who move in Panjim with the politicians ,and goons gone? where have the youth who are so reckless in riding/ driving with loud music in the cars gone? where have the youth who want to prove themselves by showing their muscle power gone?? Get the young blood involved in todays affairs of Goa, just like the change in theIndian Cricket team, let the old guards retire and be advisors to the Goan youth and see the change. [Goanet] Terrorists, pakistanis, muslims Kashmiris in Goa(handle the situation with care)
Dear Friends, The issue of sensitive establishments in Goa being a terrorist target is a serious problem not only for the Government of the state but for every person be it a Goan or a Non Goan ,irrespective from any religion caste creed or race, the Government of every state where such issues arise can only do their best the rest is and should be the responsibility of every human being in Goa, if people want to enjoy in Goa its their moral responsibility to protect it from all dangers of such terrorist attacks, let's just not blame the Government or police but the fight should be from all of us as we stand united in this. During our childhood days our folks told us that once Goa would be hit by a severe cyclone or earthquake causing a lot of damage our lovely mother called Goa , but due the relics of Saint Francis Xavier at OLD GOA we were all saved, and we pray that we continue to be saved because of him , because of our prayers and we should continue them. Let the politicians not create the arrest of the terrorist into a election issue or a propaganda, pray they forget all their differences and fight it out together.Goans are know for being very calm but GOENKARA don't be so calm that you do not know when the floods have hit your house for it will be too late and above all let's not communalise this issue , normally we have been reading a lot between hindus v/s muslims, christians v/s hindus or muslims and so forth, if a terrorist has been a kashmiri or a pakistani let's not measure all the kashmiris or pakistanis in one scale . Have been reading very constructive and educational articles by very intelligent writers on the Goanet and hats of to them. At times we concentrate on issues which may be less important at the moment forgetting those which need our attention and action. Who could/would inform us as to how many legal cases are pending in all the courts of Goa? How does our judiciary system work in deciding cases, there are cases which are pending for donkey years the main complainant/s may have died so what happens to those case when there is no one to follow? Why can't all legal cases be heard and disposed off at the earliest? Let's go back and think for a moment what have i/we given to Goa and Goans in 2005? In how many houses have i managed to connect water/electricity, how many Goans have i managed to provide employment, how many homeless have we been able to provide homes? How many poor lives have i managed to touch? How many hospitals have i visited to check on those patients who are suffering. Have i managed to keep my area clean ?How many people have we provided clothing and shelter? With how many poor people have i shared my food ? Goanet is no doubt a very interesting source of information but at times it can get too political, to monotonous, and at times one may not find anything interesting ? People should go to the interiors of Goa and come up with stories which were never told or heard , find out the miseries of those less and underprivileged Goans. Can anyone figure out how many unemployed Goans are there in Goa be it qualified unemployed or not qualified unemployed and what are we doing (let's forget about the Governments role in providing jobs to Goans till date there have been names in Employment Exchange from 1980's onwards wonder what is happening in that department?) Goanet should come up with a survey to find out its own performance as to whether its reaching the Goan masses, how constructive it has been to Goans, what changes should people of Goa propose to Goanet and how could Goanet surge ahead touching Greater Heights. LET'S FEEL THE PULSE OF THE POOR, HELP THE UNEMPLOYED YOUTH. GOANS, THE MEDIA SHOULD PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN DEVELOPING THIS AND MAKING IT SUCCEED, OTHERWISE WE ARE JUST READING ONE ARTICLE IN DIFFERENT MANNERS. Let's ponder for a while and see how best we could improve those dark/grey areas in Goa where one needs to attend it Urgently. Would be wrong to criticise the person who initiatied this celebration , as the concept is unifying Goans from every corner of the world . But we should not forget , no doubt there is a lot of hype for this day but think it for yourself is everyone celebrating this day because others are celebrating, or we too want to be on the list or are we celebrating it bearing in mind that should any Goan family , or a Goan be it an individual or a group require any help be in employment, domestic, or in any aspect or respect helping him or her they or them when in problem be in Goa or abroad that GOANS will always help each other ? Or is it just fiesta/siesta day carrying no meaning or spreading the true meaning of this day? Once again don't misunderstand me on this day its a great event to be celebrated by each and every Goan and its a must, but not only for fun but it carries and should carry a thoughtful message of helping one another at all critical times.

I have been reading a lot about the POPE, GAY PRIESTS, CAFETARIA CATHOLICS, WOMEN AS PRIESTS, RECENTLY ABOUT THE SIGN OF PEACE IN THE CHURCH. and we should expect more of such stuff on net. Why should catholic related issues only be discussed ? Is our mentality confined only in questioning catholic religion and its principles? Can someone enlighten us whether communities from other religion discuss such issues the way we discuss pertaining to religion ? Let's go in for a change of topic pleasee. Sunil
