[Goanet]Every Keralite should learn Konkani

2005-04-17 Thread jeron haldankar
Hello Goanetters,

One who is working in arab world, will be well aware that for the Arabs, every
Indian is a Keralite, as they seem to know only two questions,
Where are you from? and the answer will be India. and their next question will
be KERELA?

Its really irritating when this question is posed to us non Keralites, and I
wonder what could be the reason? and what could be the context of their second
question?

Coming to Goa, one finds these people at ever nook and corner, and as Stephen
has said, its wont be long when Goa will be an extended state of Kerela, and
not only Goa, but even India will be a smaller land for the kerala people, and
what will happen to us Goans

[Goanet]Re: ROAD SAFETY Learning from Tragedy

Hello Netters

Yes, I too have observed lots of Goans wearing helmets, but there are many
others who do ride without helmets, inspite of it being compulsory.

The fine being rupees 100 for riding without helmet, I feel if the RTO make it
a policy to sell helmets at the point where they catch the riders without
helmets, they will make more money by billing the rider 100 plus price of the
helmet, and hence, those who leave their helmets behind will be forced to
carry theirs or end up buying helmets from the RTO

Cheers
