20,000  Ratnagiri muslims, fifth generation expats in
the Cape,  told the 1990 census they spoke konkani. I
am willing to bet they have little use for the Roman,
Africaanar, Governor Durbao (Durban !!), or any other
script that so alters and demeans an historical
