It will soon be the first anniversary of the infamous
Mumbai floods. In the aftermath of the last July 26
deluge one wonders whether any lessons have been
learnt or corrective steps been taken to avoid a
repeat.

With the monsoon fast approaching, Mumbai and its
suburbs are in a vulnerable state. Be it Colaba,
Dadar, Borivili or Kurla it's dug up all over with
trenches galore.

The city must see controlled development especially in
potential flood zones while it equips itself with a
proper disaster management system.

Mumbai is a very potent city and is India's happening
place despite the bar dancing girls having
'officially' left. It is unfortunate that Wardrobe
malfunctions are exercising out minds more that our
drain malfunctions.
