Re: [Goanet] Konkani and Modi script
Thanks Ancy and Fr. Pratap. So, essentially Konkani never had a true cursive script, although I guess Hale Kannada could be written cursively to a certian degree. I was hoping that there would be at least one document existing of Konkani written in Modi. Venantius __ This is what Fr. Pratap Naik, Director of TSKK has to say about modi script for Konkanni. Konkani was written in Hale Kannada script in 17th century. We have one manuscript written called Flos Sanctorum by Franciscan Missionary Sam Anna in 1607. The original is in Public library in Paris. The xerox copy of this MS is in Goa University. Modi was used in Goa to write Marathi documents. Pratap Naik, S.J. TSKK _ Photographs: http://ancy.fotopic.net/list_collections.php

[Goanet] Konkani and Modi script
Does anyone know whether Konkani was ever written in Modi script. Or was there any other cursive script used to write Konkani? venantius j pinto 664 West 163 Street, #57 New York, NY 10032-4527 USA PH/Fax: +1 212.928.3955
