But the venue of the festival is the eco-sensitive Aguada heritage plateau next to the fort.
We have to unitedly oppose this venue because this will cause untold damage to the plateau. The plateau will soon turn into something like the Kadamba bus stand.
What about the people? Have their views been taken into consideration? The government cannot take arbitrary decisions on its own just because film makers feel that Goa is the best place to have fun and frolic.
The Aguada venue has to be reconsidered as the people of Sinquerim do not want the festival there. As it is, the insensitive domestic tourists litter the place. They spit and urinate on the fort wall. This is the kind of respect they show to our monuments.
The Mumbai filmwallahs are no better than our domestic tourists. Let us strongly oppose the holding of the festival on the Aguada plateau.
