Dear Goanetters,

I returned from my vacation just yesterday. This is to thank you for your
appreciation messages posted on Goanet/sent to me directly while I was on
vacation. I am overwhelmed with the love and support extended to me by my
Goan brothers and sisters from different parts of the world. God bless you
all.

Gaddo and bullock-cart are same.

However, what Peter probably refers to is the "gaddi",
the "boilanchi-gaddi":

It was a quaint wooden box on "gaddo" wheels and pulled
by a pair of oxen.

Garishly painted, with tiny windows and entrance from the rear,
it was very convenient "sossegado" mode of travel, but
exclusively, within Bardez.

Nowhere else, in Goa, was it known.

By a considerable stretch of imagination, it was a remote
cousin of the "fiacre".

In our property, in Paliem, Uccassaim there were at least a
dozen of them with, everyday, one on duty for the use of inmates
of our house, for church, "tintó" and visiting purposes.

Pity, not even a single one exists. I tried to get one.

A bullock cart moves. A gaddo stands still selling
beedis, Charminar and ladoos!
