Mormugao n/a = Marmagoa, capital, Vasco da Gama: There are ramparts of the
fort errected by Sambhaji
Ponda: n/a (but there is one Shivaji Fort? near Farmaguddi? Yes
Satari: = capital ValpoiNanus Fort
Salcette, capital Margao: Chandorgoa= Chandor, seat of the Kadhambas, not
the buss corp, but an acient royal dynasty, pre- Bijapur sultanate
Canacona:Cabo de Rama, opposite Betul but in Salcete
Sanguem: Rivoria fort (Rivona?)
Quepem: n/a

At Betul ?
Tivim ?= on the way to Bicholim, from Mapuca, capital, Bardez.
Mormugoa? (I wish I could understand Portuguese from the Supergoa.com
site) Rachol Old Goa?= No, Salcete. On the way from Panjim, via Old Goa, to
Margao.
After Ponda, comes the Borim Bridge. Crossing that, ca 2kms you are in
Ambora.
Turn left, and in five minutes you are in Rachol. Ask anyone for the
Seminary. It lies within the
ramparts. Locally known as Raitura.
Banastarim? = three kms from Old Goa, on way to Ponda.
Chimbel ? = Tiswadi. You have to get permission from its President
Pandurang, residing in Austin,
Tx, US of A. Not in exile.
More famous as the old venue of the Manicomio, the nut-house. Turn left from
Ribandar, akn as
Raibhandha/Raibondra, the King's/Raja's wharf.
Sanquelim? The district adjoining Bardez and Satari, capital: Bicholim.
Pass Mayem, picturesque place a couple of kms from Bicholim. Has a pond
flaunted as Lake. Remnantes of the Condes de Mayem are in Portugal and
their uncle Dr Cui, in H. or H..l.
I am all confused= Don't be. Goa is the capital of CONFUSAO. A shot of FENI
goes a long way to clear it. Bicholim, is famed for it. Visit Zatthye: will
feed you best Caju feni, nuts and Bollywood fare.
Some one please help giving a brief description on location (how to get
there etc)
Info/help may not be required for the foll forts:
Tiracol= Pernem, the Desprabhu (Viscondes de Pernem) mansion is historic.
Aguada=, in Candolim. Ask for Taj resort. The Tata's bought the fort area
for 10 rps sq m. in late 60s. Goa Govt still owns the Aguada jail. Name
derives from the watering of Portuguese shipping, AGUA
Sinquerim= next village to Candolim. If you go via Betim, take the coastal
road. You will get to Reis Magos, "The three Magi",. It is just off
Sinquerim. Fort and beautiful Church. We used to have romantic serenades on
its steps, on moonlit nights.
Anjediva= off the southern tip of Canacona, most accessible fro Karwar, but
only as the crow flies. Access subject to pleasure of occupying navy
hordes, grimmer than Ghengis Khan's.
Reis Magos= see Sinquerim, above. Beautifuly visible from Campal, Panjim.
Chapora= Next to Anjuna. Lately quite a venue for rave orgies.
Recently, we also visited Malwan fort (just outside Goa),upon reading a
news item in Herald, it was a massive fort. The whole island is fort
with people living on the island. It takes about 20minutes to get there
by boat from Malwan beach. Inside the fort, there are temples (shivaji
frequently visited there, he even helped in the constructions
(fort/temples), there are houses, caves etc
