The villages of Neura and Batim in Tiswadi have got new 'panchayat ghars'.
Besides, Neura has also got a market complex and Batim a football ground.

Built at a cost of Rs 9 crore, the Neura 'panchayat ghar' and market complex

has been constructed on the land admeasuring 3,500 sq m. The ground floor
comprises the panchayat office, library, post office, electricity department
office, health centre, and a branch office of a bank, while the first floor
houses the sarpanch's cabin, talathi's office, secretary's office, telephone
exchange office, recreational room including club house, gymnasium and
community hall with a capacity for 500 persons.

Silveira, who coincided the inauguration with his birthday, also inaugurated a
panchayat ghar and football ground costing Rs 4.64 crore at Batim, whose
construction has also been executed by the GSIDC.

2,245 sq m.

Augusto Pinto, Floriano Lobo and Anil Dessai are right. Advertisers and those
who fund their TV channels are more important to these journalist businessmen
than the public and cause of the public at large. THE FOURTH ESTATE especially
the electronic media has become a properous business and they have forgotten
their REAL MANDATE. There is a need for a FIFTH ESTATE to regulate this fourth
estate.
Sample this: Channels do opinion polls. Is this not fooling gulligle mobile
owners? Firstly, the charge the SMS is higher. This money goes to mobile
service provider. Kickbacks from this go to TV channel. The loser is SMS
sender. Secondly, the polls give wrong picture as only few interested ones
participate and not the majority. A person can send any number of votes. Since
those who participate do not form representative sample such poll results have
no meaning hence not dependable. Govt should ban such polls. Also SMS for polls
must be free to the sender. If mobile company has to be paid, the charges must
be paid by the poll conductor (TV channel) since it gains by obtaining free
data. Government must ban mobiles companies from charging senders.
Can CONSUMER RIGHT bodies take this up with the Government?
Rajendra Kakodkar 9822101450

Reliance, one of India's most shady companies, is an investor
in CNN-IBN. Who knows it might be worth investigating
if Vedanta also has stake in CNN-IBN ?

Having said that, I dont think Rajdeep is a crook. Just that
it requires exceptional integrity and caliber
today to run a business and
not side with shady parties.

Subject: [Goanet] White ants 'ate' 24 kg charas: Prosecution tell court

Humans over the period of evolution finally set up courts to deliver justice and
punish the guilty, but men in all his wisdom says innocent till proven guilty
for this men came up with the judiciary, where the judge is the arbitrator of
justice, sometimes helped by a nominated jury, so far so good, but what comes
next has often made a mockery of our renowned system of justice.

In any court case, there is always the transgressed and the transgressor,
whereby one of the two has to be guilty, but the irony of our justice system is,
both swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth and yet
one of them is lying and to complicate it even further we have two guys in black
coats knowingly or unknowingly trying to prove the other wrong or guilty. From
personal experience I know a lot of innocent people have been proved guilty or a
lot of guilty people have been acquitted of their transgressions. As far as I am
concerned I would prefer a solution outside the court any given day. Our
justice system has been hijacked by the brilliance and manipulative powers of
some of the men in black coats called Lawyers. Are they a blessing or a curse on
humanity ?

If my memory serves me right, the case of the old Mandovi bridge where one of
the pillars of the bridge was knocked down by a barge, the owner of the barge
won the case saying that the unstable pillar fell on his barge, and was paid
compensation for the damage to his barge, is that what really happened ?

Here is another case of the vanishing drugs, the lawyer for the defendants
claiming that the drugs were devoured by an army of white ants, incredible ants
and even more incredible lawyer. First and foremost, where these drugs kept in a
mud house or a secure cemented and concrete structure ? Why is it, nobody
noticed the receding amount of drugs ? I am sure, all those drugs could not have
been consumed by the ants in a jiffy. So who is selling the cock and the bull
story and the important factor is, who is buying it ?

When asked about the drugs imbroglio in Goa, our Home Minister Mr. Ravi Naik,
not so long ago proclaimed in public that there were no drugs in Goa, is now
finally convinced that it is not so and is trying to assure Goans, that he will
get to the bottom of this issue and punish the guilty, I won't be surprise if
this issue turns out to be a bottomless pit like many others, wherein he could
never reach the bottom, it just occurred to me, could these white ants be
domesticated and trained by our politicians ? Today in Goa anything is possible
!

It would be most appropriate to put up boards around the parameters of the said
drug storage facility warning people, to beware of any zombie white ants,
highly contaminated, dangerous and armed with potent drugs, in the vicinity and
to report any suspicious acts by any other reptiles in the vicinity to the
nearest police station or the court in the area.

Zombie white ants, God Almighty !! What next !!

Dr. Porpotto: But, gentleman I am a Veterinary Doctor. I am an animal

Hercu: I know very well and that is why I have come to you only...

Dr. Porpotto: I can not, because you speak like me, think like me, talk like

Dr. Porpotto: Wait a minute; are you working for any politician?

Hercu: Yes doctor, I am PA of our ... Minister of Goa.

Dr. Porpotto: Instead of telling this long history you should have told me in

Dear Venantius,
These are some words I can recollect at the moment; you probably have them all
in your collection:
Dhovem (white)
Kallem (black)
Hollduvem (yellow) from hollod = turmeric
Tambddem (red) from tambem (copper) perhaps
Pachvem (green) from pachu = emerald
Nillem (navy blue) from nill = indigo
Gobrem (gray) from gobor = ash
Zambllem (purple) from zambull fruit
Bhangrallem (golden) from bhangar
Ruperi (silvern) from rupem
Gulabi (pink) from gulab = rose

Dhovem ful'l (snow-white).  Don't know whether ful'l means anything.
Kallem kitt'tt (pitchblack).  - do - regarding kitt'tt.
Tambddem gunj (bright red).  Perhaps gunj stands for gunji = seed of abrus
precatorius.

Kor (colour) from Port. cor of the same meaning
Chutt'tte kor (leaf green) from Chutt'tti = palm leaflet
Mollba kor (sky blue) from mollob = sky
Kafekor (brown) from kafi - coffee
Korderoz (pink) Port. colour of rose

-sar = -ish. e.g. Tambsar = reddish, Dhovsar tambddem = pale red. Kallsar
tambddem = dark red.

Don't know whether alhambradu/alambrad(u) tuje polle is the correct
interpretation; because alambreado is Port. for amber-coloured or yellowish
brown, a not so likely colour for cheeks.  In my region we sing it as Tambdde
Roza tuje pole (Rosa, your cheeks are red) which, I think makes more sense,
especially because Roza appears again in the same mando.  Perhaps I am wrong?

Mog asum.

Hi all,

It could range from names of colors, pigments, complexions,; to color in

begins to look sinister. It may be colors as heard or encountered in
proverbs, verse, prose, prayer, sayings, curses, or epithets---kaya pottacho

red.

For instance what do we call grey/gray, brown. What loan words do people
remember from Portuguese or can recognize from other languages into ours.

What suffixes (or prefixes, if any) are commonly used as in bang'ra-sarkem,

It looks like it will take some time to recover fully and at least 2 months
to see him back on stage.

This time we saw WDC’s darling daughter MEERA by his side
Many tiatrists visited WDC including Samuel, Marcus,
Prince Jacob, Francis de Tuem etc etc
Meera also said that she is happy to see almost all tiatrists at the hospital

When asked if we can take a pic with the permission of the ward nurses,
the reply was negative as it could interfere with the electronic/radio
system by his bed.

Later on, we asked  if we can take a pic from a distance,  we were told to
try at the counter/Ward nurses for  which we got permission  when we assured it
was not for the press but for his fans abroad.
