I am from Colvale. I was always told that this was the Colvale Fort. I have even been in a dug out canoe from the "Tar" in Colvale, up the creek, to the ruins of this fort which lies half way to Tivim. Is there anyone here who can shed some light on this? Mervyn

Its almost a fortnight now that I make it a point to watch the news on Doordarshan to know that my country is not as hopeless as these rascal private channels are portraying. These chnnles go as news channels but what they give is gossip and are undertakers for vested interests. The middle class of this country is entertained by this orgy. -soter

It also seems that negativism is a must to keep these channels floating in air 24x7, propped up by a torrent of repetitive ads, and a sprinkling of Bollywood blabber for a garnish. Unless an earth-shattering scam occurs at the close of the week, sombre Sundays send us wondering if India will fall to pieces in the weeks to follow. But fortunately it doesn’t, despite all negativism that breaks the barriers of human sensitivities. In fact, so much happens behind those very screens that portray a doomsday scenario. Recently, India blasted its first unmanned ‘Chandrayaan 1’ to the moon and successfully test fired a series of ‘Agni’ ballistic missiles, all of them of India’s own genius. India's Phenomenon called Arvind Kejriwal - by Floriano Lobo When I went to the Manoshanti Hotel in Panjim, some few years ago, to listen to this new RTI avatar called Arvind Kejriwal, I had thought that this avatar will go places in time to come should he choose to immerse himself into clean, activism related, national politics, time having come to replace the corrupted politics of 'WINNABILITY' and politics of transferring GOD from Heaven to Earth. I made it a point to have a few words with him in that dharshan at Manoshanti Hotel and had even handed over to him the Constitution and the Road Map for Goa of the Goa Su-Raj Party, Goa's fledgling Regional Political Party of Activists and not of Politicians, with a request to him that he go through these when he found time. I want to believe that he has gone through these two documents. However, when he teamed up with another phenomenon call Anna Hazare, my expectations of Arvind Kejriwal had cooled off. According to my inner voice, Arvind Kejriwal's impetus and drive in cleaning up the ever dirty politics of India through an NGO alone would not go far, because Anna Hazare , according to me, was the zombie of the RSS, and Arvind Kejriwal's continued association with him would come to naught. I was surprised, when Anna Hazare initially consented to the idea of setting up a political party after his second 'fast' turned out to be a big flop. I knew that the strings would be pulled by the RSS to pull him back from this decision. And I was right, because, RSS was, all this while, supporting Team Anna and it's IAC Campaign in the hope that it's laadli BJP would benefit from it and come into prominence, just like it came into prominence before on the Ayodhya and Ram Mandir card, by projecting Congress as Corrupt to the core. RSS never wanted Anna Hazare to espouse the cause of a new political outfit that would challenge both, the Congress as well as the BJP. With Arvind Kejriwal attached to Team Anna, this was bound to happen and BJP would eat dust along with the Congress. So they pulled the strings and Anna Hazare went back to his Raleigaon Siddi's backwaters. I had written about this saying that Arvind Kejriwal was better-off sans the flip-flop Anna Hazare. I never attended a single meeting of the Anna Hazare's Anti Corruption Campaign in Goa because this campaign was nothing but the face of the RSS-BJP with the well known RSS sympathizer Adv. Satish Sonak in the forefront. I had even dissuaded people from attending the Panjim Azad Maidan Meet where Anna Hazare was to attend. I knew where this campaign would start and where it would end, more specifically, at the upper floors of the Hotel Nova Goa in Panjim. I am happy that Arvind Kejriwal is now free from the RSS-BJP pot-boiler with his new political party serious about contesting all of 545 seats in the Parliament in the coming Lok Sabha Elections - 2014 as stated in the section of the Press. He has already ruffled political feathers to the extent that they have now started losing their cool at press conferences and have grouped together to support one another against Arvind Kejriwal's blitz that is going to expose them of all of their naked deeds heretofore hidden and/or covered up by putting 'Honest Jokers' in front. The cake was being baked for these two political parties, Congress and the BJP, to eat, with a few morsels to be thrown to the other State political parties like BSP, SP, RJD, TMC etc., to keep them contented and satisfied. Enter Kejriwal, this long time feasting at the cost of the nation is being questioned and tempers are getting frayed and out of control, already. The long since wrapped-up issues between the folds of the 'sari' of the Congress' President are being un-wrapped, on the one side by Arvind Kejriwal and his dedicated team of Social and Political Activists and on the other side by the Hitler of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, though Narendra Modi's rantings must be discounted as the ramblings of a 'manic killer' with blood of INNOCENT thousands staining his hands. In my view, this is the God sent opportunity for Arvind Kejriwal to set up a State-National-Federal System of Political Parties where his soon to be named National Political aligns itself with compatible to it's IAC ideology State Political Parties to cleanse the Nation's Parliament for once of criminal and sycophantic elements and put in place members who are erudite, gentlemen/women statesmen/women with vision, knowledgeable about India, it's people and their problems, as well as knowledgeable of the affairs of the world. Let Arvind Kejriwal's new party not dabble with State
