[Goanet] Ganpati Bappa Moira

2015-09-18 Thread Shamika Andrade
As a kid born and brought up in Bombay, summer holidays always meant going
to Goa. And going to Goa always meant going to Moira and Aldona.

And as this kid born and brought up in Bombay, languages often intermingled
with one another giving rise to their own creation.

So when Hindu devotees called out “Ganpati Bappa Moriya”, I could only hear
Ganpati Bappa Moira.

A deeper explanation could be that when Mum warned Dad about overeating,
she usually said things like “You are becoming a ganpati”.

As a child, this is how I must have thought- Dad is from Moira and if he is
becoming a Ganpati, then were the people making fun of him when they said
Ganpati Bappa Moira? How did they find him? Were they going to immerse him?
But why?!

It’s funny how a childhood memory can suddenly pop up in one’s head. Then
again, today is Ganesh Chaturthi, the drums beat in sync to the devotees’
hearts and the-pounding-in-the-head of non-devotees.

In a place like Bombay, different cultures rub shoulders with one another,
sometimes picking out the best from each other. Everyone lives in close
harmony. Everyone knows how to adjust, until political parties for their
own vested gains bring in the divide.

Now let’s take the example of eating fish. Since this is an auspicious time
for our Hindu brethren, they would refrain from eating fish (and other
meats). As for me, I personally stay away from sea-food after Ganpati
visarjans or the immersions. Already toxic fish getting intoxicated on
gaudy plaster-of-paris remnants is a little too much for anyone to stomach.

But since we all live in harmony, I think I should tell my Hindu friends
who can’t wait to trade the vegetables for veritable meats along with
maachi fry, calamari, jhinga and other fish dishes.

However, I should also tell them that since there is a beef ban and the
government is trying for a meat ban and fish is much too polluted for a few
months, they should learn to love their vegetables.

Or learn to eat soya nuggets.

As for Dad who is rummaging in the kitchen, I wonder what he’s currently
over eating.

Oh wait! I can suddenly hear Mom's elephant footsteps to the rescue!

Ganpati Bappa Moira,

Dear All
Pl see today's HT, which has a front-page story, pasted below, along with a
full page on our debate yesterday.
The important news is that he's still prepared to take objections, so everyone
should write to the office(r)s concerned, cited in the leaflet attached. But
only deal with LOCAL impacts, unless you have any other expert opinion. Don't
reiterate previous objections, because it will be discarded.
Arjun: pl chain-mail this to all meeting attendees.

BMC open to changes to coastal roadHT Correspondent, Hindustan Times, Mumbai|
Updated: Sep 15, 2015 01:46 IST 0 0Share0 The citizens are set to have a
greater say in the ambitious coastal road project as the civic body is willing
to make changes to the plan on the basis of Mumbaiites’ suggestions and
objections. Speaking at HT’s roundtable discussion on the coastal road project,
municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta said the Brihamumbai Municipal Corporation
(BMC) is ready to take on board suggestions and objections to the project,
although the deadline has already passed.
An HT initiative to increase citizen participation in the coastal road project,
the roundtable discussion on Monday was attended by Ashok Datar, transport
activist and convener of Mumbai Transport Forum (MTF); Shishir Joshi, CEO of
Mumbai First; Darryl D’monte, former journalist; Shweta Wagh and Hussain
Indorewala of K Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture (KRVIA); along with
the civic chief.
Mehta said the civic body will try and reach out to citizens with “greater
gusto”, and that the citizens need not be “experts” for making suggestions to
the plan.
“The civic body is ready for alternatives, mitigations or corrections on
coastal road if it could have better suggestions. Even if the official deadline
of suggestions and objections has ended, public can approach us and give their
opinion based on any study,” said the civic chief.
The move will lead to greater public participation in the project, resulting in
the best possible options being cleared for the 33-km coastal road. The project
has faced opposition from citizens and experts on several issues, such as land
reclamation, environmental damage and traffic bottlenecks.Mehta said the BMC
does not want cosmetic changes, which they regret later. “All the objections
will be checked minutely so that only the best is reserved for the project.
Every step taken by the BMC and all related documents will be made public,”
said Mehta.
The experts and urban researchers at the roundtable discussion suggested there
should be more participation of citizens in the project through ward-level
meetings and public consultations.
Claiming the public is poorly informed about the coastal road project, Datar
said: “Lot of confusion over feasibility of coastal road exists because there
is hardly any public dialogue or hearing over it. There needs to be more
interactive sessions between officials and citizens.”
D’monte said since few people are informed about the project, it has created a
trust deficit. “The civic body should hold public meetings at ward levels,” he
said.
As a take away from the discussion, Mumbai First, an initiative of private
businesses that is partnering with the state government to transform the city,
will hold dialogues and discussions on the project to bridge the gap between
citizen groups and the administration.

*IRAN U-16 3 (Mohammad Sharifi – 16th, Khodamoradi – 44th, Ghaderi – 57th)*

*TABRIZ CITY:* India U-16 National Team went down 0-3 to a strong Iran in
their second match of the AFC U-16 Qualifiers in Tabriz City on Friday
(September 18).

In another match, Bahrain, who had lost 0-5 to India in the inaugural Group
E match, beat Lebanon 2-1.

India now stand on three points from two matches and will play Lebanon in
their last Group League match on Sunday (September 20).

Goals from Mohammad Sharaifi (16th), Khodamoradi (43rd) and Ghaderi (57th)
helped Iran earn full points.

Congratulating Iran on the victory, Head Coach Nicolai Adam added with a
smile, “We look forward to having rematch against Iran in the AFC U-16
Finals next year in India.”

“With due respect to Iran, we played much stronger Teams during the
exposure teams in Germany and even won. But to win a game like this you
need to play without making mistakes, which we were not able to,” he
maintained.

“It was in the last 20 minutes that we played Football. The second goal at
the stroke of interval killed us,” he stated. “The boys are young and we
have time to prepare them for the bigger challenges that stay ahead.”

“We could not reproduce our good performance which we put up against
Bahrain. In my opinion, we lost because we were weak, and not because Iran
were strong,” he commented.

“It was not a good match for both sides as there were plenty of long balls
played by both sides while Players from this age should play more on the
pitch,” he felt.

Iran surged into the lead in the 16th minute. Off a free-kick, all went for
the header and it missed all to enter the net.

Just as the Teams seemed to be heading to the interval with the same score,
the second goal came a minute prior to the interval.

Goalkeeper Dheeraj was perhaps that shade too late to react to
Khodamoradi’s long ranger, and it bulged the net.

Off the very next attack, India almost reduced the margin but even as
Ninthoi cut down the left and entered the box, rival Goalkeeper Meraj
Esmaeli, the tallest Player on the pitch, stretched himself to the full to
block.

Changing over, Sanjiv replaced Aniket and then Rahul came in for Ninthoi in
the 68th minute.

It seemed to have an immediate effect as India earned two corners and a
free kick in a span of three minutes and had not Sarif disbalanced himself
in his effort to tap into the empty net, the deficit could have been
reduced.

The Indians seemed to be coming back into their own groove by then. The
Iranians were pushed back and defended, at times, just managing to. They
used their better physique to their full advantage.

One of Sanjiv’s shot narrowly missed the target and another rasper from
Rahul went straight to Meraj.

Joseph came in for Suresh – the last substitution in the 82nd minute but
overturning the deficit seemed improbable.

[Goanet] GITP Press Note (18-Sep-2015): GEC engineers choose to make a difference to Goan villages

2015-09-18 Thread Goa IT Professionals
*GEC engineers choose to make a difference to Goan villages*

As you are aware Goa IT Professionals (GITP) group has recently launched
its Project GEIT (Goans Empowered with IT) in 3 Goan village schools to
promote IT education among school children with the vision of eventually
bringing modern employment@doorsteps to our villages for all-round
upliftment of our society.

At the start of Project GEIT our repeated requests for more than a month to
many global Goans to fund at least one of the three schools this year
yielded no results. The amount in question was ₹55,000. With time running
out our GITP Vice President, Vincent Toscano, made a plea to his Government
Engineering College (GEC, Farmagudi, Goa) 1997 batch mates on their
whatsapp group on the morning of 09-Sep-2015 and within 12 hours the
pending school got more than fully funded with donors contributing ₹5000
each as listed below in alphabetical order:

1. Biju Mathew

2. Blasio Dias

3. Deelip Menezes

4. Dhondiraj Samant

5. Kaustubh Sawkar

6. Michael D'Souza

7. Nikhilesh Samant

8. Pandurang Kamat

9. Ranjit Nair

10. Sanjay Karanjkar

11. Somesh Naik

12. Sunil Rodrigues

It was indeed heart-warming to see the concern and eagerness of this batch
of engineers – Goan and others alike – to support our people’s initiative
to make a positive difference for Goans in our villages. Imagine what
wonders could be achieved if every batch from each college and institution
in Goa were to come forward likewise to support similar initiatives focused
not on doling out charity but to enable Goans to raise themselves up with
modern skills.

It is magic when well-intentioned people and information technology
(whatsapp in the above case) come together for a good cause. And for every
cynical Goan there is an increasing number of Goans, as well as outsiders
(“bhaile” as we ridicule them), that genuinely care to make a positive
difference for Goans in Goa for no vested interests or any returns. The
above incident is an eye-opener to the many chronically pessimist and
escapist Goans who blame everybody other than themselves for the current
state of affairs in Goa. It is high time they wake up and start doing
something positive for the society, for our every positive action,
howsoever big or small, today piles up into a greater good tomorrow. Doing
nothing improves nothing…so start doing something…positive…from today…for
as long as each one of us can!

[Goanet] COLVALE JAIL AND NOT IAS – THE ROAD AHEAD FOR ARUN DESAI

2015-09-18 Thread Aires Rodrigues
Arun Desai, the mastermind in the infamous RTO bribery case is no novice to
Corruption. Any government servant will recall that as Secretary to Manohar
Parrikar in 2000 during his first tenure as Chief Minister of Goa, Arun
Desai used to openly collect for all and sundry. How they shared that booty
only the two would know.

With all other officers being frequently tossed around Arun Desai managed
and manipulated to remain firmly saddled on the treasure throne as the
Director of Transport for a record uninterrupted last over five years, only
to be transferred out this week after a written note moved by the Anti-
corruption Branch.

The alarming levels of Corruption in Goa is a matter of great concern.
Corruption has soared to towering levels over the last three and a half
years of the BJP rule. The Director of Vigilance Amarsen Rane and
Superintendent of Police Bosco George heading the Anti- Corruption wing in
the Vigilance department along with their teams are very competent and
conscientious officers but lack the power and freedom to function
independently. They need the government approval for everything, even to
register a preliminary inquiry against an erring official. The BJP has
infact been misusing the Vigilance department only to target and silence
voices of political dissent.

The BJP should be ashamed that it is promoting an awfully rotten officer
Arun Desai to the IAS cadre. If Zero Tolerance to Corruption is the mantra,
the government should keep Arun Desai in Goa to prosecute and punish him
for all his misdeeds.

There can be only one Road Map ahead for the beleaguered Arun Desai.
Colvale Jail and not the IAS cadre should be the destination for an officer
who has so well excelled and distinguished himself in the art and finesse
of Corruption.

[Goanet] ISIS luring Indian Youth

2015-09-18 Thread Nelson Lopes
ISIS LURING INDIAN YOUTH

At least two recruiting agents in India have positively come to light.
The number of Indians with respect to the Muslim population seems to be
insignificant, though there are no exact figures. In times to come it can
only become large, The number of people from the west, Europe, France,
joining their ranks is much more alarming, Those joining them are educated
people, young and professionals, who may not necessarily be conversant with
religious ideology .The recruits are engaged through Internet by
sophisticated methods, not easily visible on the surface, Joining ISIS is
fighting a war abroad and thus taking part in a sectarian conflicts, which
may then be imported in India, form sleeper cells of propaganda, recruitment
and thus divide a wedge between Shias and Sunnis in India, which is not
pronounced at the moment The clever propaganda, brain washing and financial
clout is playing its role, Why the young , professionals from India are
attracted and lured at personal risks is just difficult to fathom, Even
the parents of such passionate followers are kept in the dark, Muslims in
India are not well educated ,poor and marginalized lot, There is no
attempt to integrate them in the main streams or in employment, They are
always looked upon with suspicions as terrorists, and unfortunately in most
terrorists incidents, Muslims are an integral part. Hence the perception is
not without reasons. ,Even after a long period of Independence Muslims are
still to enjoy the confidence of the majority with respect to their
patriotism The frequent rabble rousing by fringe elements like VHP, Bajrang
Dall, HMS and even responsible members of BJP with their Ghar vapsi, love
jihad drives terror in their minds, making them feel unwanted and pushing
them in the open arms of such exploiters The ISIS is not only a threat to
Muslim Nations, but detrimental to secular fabric and peace and prosperity.
It was for India to stop the tide of recruitment and to take definite
measures to counter the elusive propaganda of ISIS

[Goanet] What's the beef?

2015-09-18 Thread Joao Barros-Pereira
What's the beef?

"Why only mutton and chicken and not also fish and eggs?" asks the Bombay
High court in reference to the ban during the period of fasting of the
Jains. If it is about the practice of non-violence by the Jain community,
then why not also fish and eggs? A good question, otherwise isn't it an
intrusion into the eating habits of Indian citizens?

The Maharastra State government and promotors of the ban need to answer the
question or the majority of Indians who respect the High court and accept
its position of authority within the framework of the Indian constitution
will have to conclude it is nothing more, nothing less, than fascism as
articulated in the media. And, since the promotors of the ban would not
like to appear as fascists they should answer the question clearly.
Millions of Indians are confused and now living in wonderland with regard
to this issue.

We Indians are proud to be the world's largest democracy and guard our
sacred legal rights jealously. We know how Adolf Hitler came to power in a
German democracy - a cautionary tale - at the time we Indians were fighting
to rid ourselves of the yoke of colonialism with the great Mahatma Gandhi
as our leader. The British government relented, and gave us Independence.
At last, we Indians were free! Is the elected Maharastra government going
to take away the hard-won freedom and legal rights of the people of Mumbai?

Jainism is a non-violent religion and so is Buddhism. Both religions
originated in India but the Jains are extremely rich today unlike Buddhists
who are poor and belong to low castes.

Why did it happen this way? We know how famous the Jains are for not
wanting to hurt even an insect. The vision and teachings of Jainism
strongly limited the possibility of people becoming soldiers or even
farmers over a millennium, at least. The clever Jains chose the path of the
merchant, trader and shopkeeper. In this way, they did not have to become
violent, and yet could become rich. They are a wealthy community in India
today, aren't they?

Buddha was no match for the Brahmins. Although he was a prince, and had a
number of Brahmin rebels as his followers, they were all against caste,
inequality by birth. India, in fact, can claim to have the first
practitioner of democracy and equality in the history of the world,
millennia ahead of Europe, the UK or the USA. However, his view of equality
went beyond politics and, though it was the first step, enlightenment was
the final.

The government needs to promote Buddhism, the other great ancient Indian
religion which today is a global religion even though it is against caste,
the ugliest form of discrimination in the world. With the progress of
science, all other major religions appear to fall into the realm of
mythology or fiction. Nowadays, the majority of Indians despise caste, it
is not only Dr. Ambedker and low caste people. And, believe it or not, so
do some politicians too.

[Goanet] WANING NARENDRA MODI ON THE SLIDE

2015-09-18 Thread Aires Rodrigues
In yet more empty rhetoric Narendra Modi now vows that he will do in 50
months what others have not done in 50 years obviously referring to the
Congress. But over the last 16 months he has only been blabbering and
merrily touring the world. And for the next 34 months that is all he will
be up to. All indications are however that in Corruption the BJP may pocket
in 50 months what it took the Congress 50 years.

Like Dr Manmohan Singh, now Narendra Modi too sits mum when his government
is cornered. He promised the country the moon but has miserably failed to
deliver. It has been only empty glossy talk all the way. With his one man
rule, basic democratic values have been consigned to the wind.

Nothing has been done to strengthen the Right to Information Act while the
Lok Pal is also not in place only affording ‘Acche din’ for the corrupt. It
is no secret that the Narendra Modi government is geared, controlled, and
manipulated by the RSS and the VHP who are deeply entrenched in their very
divisive ideology.

Fascism is at its peak, with sheer intolerance to criticism. L. K. Advani
was not wrong in voicing his concern as recently as on 18th June this year
that the repeat of Emergency could happen. The people of India are now
seeing through NaMo’s vicious game plan with the chorus already bugling
‘Modi Hatao Desh Bachao’.

Re: [Goanet] Kolkata: Karate girl kicks her way out of molesters’ clutches

2015-09-18 Thread Stephen Dias
Beautiful job done by this karate teenager girl. Others must also learn
karate lessons that will help them one day. Those who have girls must see
that their children learn karate classes and the Govt of Goa must see that
karate classes for girls must be essential and mandatory subject in the
school or colleges.
Goans must learn the lesson from this girl and karate master teachers in
Goa, should see that the young girls who are leaning karate in various
schools in Goa must be well trained for this kind of fight.

[Goanet] Western coastal road: Another builders’ dream project

2015-09-18 Thread Robin Viegas
From: bcsabha.kal...@gmail.com
To:

15 Sep 2015Hindustan Times (Mumbai)SHIRISH B PATEL
THE WCR WILL DEEPEN THE DIVIDE BETWEEN THE PROSPEROUS WESTERN EDGE AND THE REST
OF THE CITYMUMBAI: Like many another costly project in Mumbai of dubious value,
the Western Coastal Road (WCR) is yet another project that will have massive
costs and yet do virtually nothing for Mumbai’s citizens — except, in this
case, the tiny handful that travel only by car. Sadly, our citizens are either
too docile (the poor) or too complicit (the rich) to question the government’s
choices.
Every infrastructure project in the city should be looked at keeping the
following in mind:(a) Its long-term impact on the development of the city(b)
The numbers of people who benefit from it(c) The income class of the people who
benefit(d) Its priority in the list of city projects(e) Its cost and how it can
be funded
In approving the WCR, the Government of Maharashtra seems to have overlooked
each of these considerations. In regard to long-term impact, the WCR will
further deepen the divide between the prosperous western edge and the rest of
the city. The western edge already has real estate prices that are among the
highest in the world. The experience of cities all over the world has been that
it is important to keep a balance of different income groups spread throughout
the city. Cities that ignored this have suffered. Paris constructed housing for
the poor on its perimeter and suffered severe riots. Property prices will
inevitably vary across a city, but taking measures that aggravate the
difference is bad policy.
Investment attracts investment. Public infrastructure investment inevitably
attracts population and further private investment by way of property
development. The temptation to build new residential blocks and hotels with a
great and unobstructed sea view will be impossible to resist. And let us not
delude ourselves, the accommodation in these new Marine Drives will naturally
be at the highest possible prices. Of course the scheme as presented today
shows extensive green areas, both between the road and the existing edge of the
land and at the places where new offshore geometric intersections are laid out
to connect with feeder roads. Such green areas will not remain green for very
long. One does not need to look beyond what has happened to the already minimal
green areas in the city to know what the fate of these new green areas will be.
The WCR is planned as two lanes each way. So it is really meant for cars only.
Whether you say so or not, that is the way it will be. The reality of the
Bandra-Worli Sea Link is that buses are not allowed on it. So it will be with
the WCR. Let us not forget that the new road will be on the extreme western
edge of Mumbai. To get anywhere else in Mumbai, you will have to turn off the
WCR and enter one of the east-west cross roads, already too narrow and too
crowded to cope with more traffic from the WCR. So the WCR will truly serve
only those who live along it and have their offices, clubs and restaurants also
along the same WCR. This super-wealthy minority will then be able to zip up and
down the WCR, from home to office to restaurant to office to gym to club and
home again, all without touching the rest of the city.
Incidentally, there cannot be bus stops along the route of the WCR, because
where will the bus travellers go from the bus stop? The only users of such bus
stops would be servants in the high value buildings or hotels alongside.
A recent transport study showed that 52% of all trips in the city are by
walking. Of the vehicular trips, 5% are by car. Overall, 2.2% of daily trips in
Mumbai are by car. More than half of these are surely along the eastern and
central parts of Mumbai. So perhaps less than 1% of daily trips might exploit
the benefit of the WCR. So is this massive investment for the exclusive benefit
of that tiny handful? Or are there sideshows going on we know nothing about?
Including, of course, the promise of future builders’ profits.
Worst of all, the project adds no new land to the city. What the city needs
instead is rapid transit projects that extend its transport systems into as yet
untouched areas, and that add new land to the city, on which to locate new
homes and new jobs. This is the only way we can hope to have affordable housing
for the millions who currently live in slums.
To put it plainly, the outstanding merit of the Western Coastal Road seems to
be that it is a high value project, and therefore much loved by our political
decision makers. It also has the virtue of not opening up more land, thus
maintaining land scarcity and its consequent high value, which is a top
priority consideration for builders. That it does nothing for 99% of Mumbai’s
citizens is neither here nor there — as long as, like so many other projects,
people can be fooled into believing it is all for their benefit and no other
consideration

[Goanet] Mumbai: Road to ruin or progress for the city?

15 Sep 2015Hindustan Times (Mumbai)HT Correspondent ® htme...@hindustantimes.com
HT organised a roundtable of the BMC chief, transport experts and urban
planners to discuss the city’s largest and most contentious infrastructure
project — the coastal roadFrom page 01 The state government’s proposed freeway
along the city’s west coast, which aims to cut down peak hour traffic jams, was
the subject of fervent discussion, especially centred around the efficacy of
the Rs12,000 crore project.VIDYA SUBRAMANIAN/HTThe panel of experts at
Hindustan Times’ Roundtable on the Coastal Road held on Monday. On Monday,
Hindustan Times’ ‘Roundtable on the Coastal Road’ brought together various
stakeholders in the project, including transport experts, urban planners,
face-to-face with civic commissioner Ajoy Mehta, under whom the project will be
implemented over the next few years. The result was an informed debate on
issues such as environmental concerns, the need for public transport, the trust
deficit. It concluded with the BMC chief opening the doors for further debate
on the issue.
The experts focused on the need to push public mass transport with urban
planners and transport experts panning the project as being car centric,
terming the plan’s proposed Bus Rapid Transit System as ‘mere tokenism’. Urban
planners also raised the issue of the project’s impact on the environment, with
reclamation being allowed in the city after nearly two decades, for this
project.
“The entire project is car-centric. Few citizens will use the BRTS to travel
from the north-end of the city to the south because there are not many stops on
the route and it does not make sense to travel by a bus for shorter distances.
Thus, the very basic idea of mass transport is lost,’’ said Ashok Datar,
transport activist and conveyer of Mumbai Transport Forum (MTF).
Datar termed the BRTS on coastal road as‘ mere to kenism’, evenas he championed
the Mumbai Metro as the mass transit option. He said the coastal road will
cater to about two lakh citizens only, where as the city’s first Metroline,
built at acost of Rs4,000 crore, is being used by more than 2.5 lakh citizens.
Hussain Indorewala, urban planner and assistant professor with Kamla Raheja
Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture said, “We are spending crores of rupees on
a project that will cater to only 2% or 3% of the population. We have
well-established public transport, but we are moving away from it to promote
personal transport.”
However, Mehta said the coastal road project was finalised after adequate
studies, taking into consideration the needs of the city’s population as well
as increasing the number of private cars. “The resources to be used for this
project will not take away from any of the BMC’s development works such as
roads or storm water drains. BRTS is of an adequate size, adequate design and
is a dedicated route, so on what basis do we call it tokenism?”
Shishir Joshi, CEO of Mumbai First, an initiative of Mumbai Inc to transform
the city, agreed the public transport network had to be improved in the city,
but felt the coastal road was the need of the hour for a city like Mumbai.
But Darryl D’Monte, former editor and chairperson for the Forum of
Environmental Journalists of India (FEJI), said that all over the world, BRTS
is built on existing roads and at the cost of private cars. “There are views
that Mumbai is congested and we cannot have BRTS. But to decongest the city we
need a dedicated route for public transport.”
Addressing the issue of the north-south corridor’s various exits onto the
existing arterial roads, which would create congestion and could also lead to
floods (with Malad creek being disturbed), Shweta Wagh, urban planner and
assistant professor at the Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture,
said, “There will be huge environmental loss because of the project and the
coastal road will also increase the risk of flooding.”

[Goanet] GOLD SMUGGLING IS EASIER BY AIR THAN LAND OR SEA?

2015-09-18 Thread Stephen Dias
-
DABOLIM IN GOA IS A BETTER HUB FOR SMUGGLING?

It is now well accepted and established that the smuggling Gold or anything
else in that matter, is much easier and quick mode, is through the Air
destination flights for Dabolim.
No doubt this clear air passage for smuggling must have been going on
many years ago, but now it is becoming open due to reporting by Herald.
This is only possible if there is an understanding between the pilots,
loaders, customs officials and traffic air officials being involved in it.
It is difficult to track all these connections because everybody must
have been involved in it, including the top politicians in Goa and the
anti -corruption and smuggling bureau must be finding difficult to track
all these smuggling activities taking place.
Herald on 19th Sept 2015 has well reported not only through their Editorial
but also in print with no much proofs. What it remains is to go deep to
the episode and modus operadum of smuggling taking place at Dabolim airport
which is a difficult job for the reporters as their access is limited.
The ACB can now track the invisible track destination and connectivity
of smuggled goods to Goa by AIR and arrest those involved.
Hope the channel is becoming clearer day by day due to efforts of Herald
reporters.
