[Goanet] GOD - Do you know ? part 3 of 4

2016-02-12 Thread Devak Argham
YOU ARE WELCOME TO SHARE THE WORD.

Mark 8:36 - For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the
whole world, and lose his own soul?

Part 3

Now that we have seen where 'I AM' is not present. We need to know
where is God present. Before that it is important to understand WHO or
WHAT is God

WHAT IS GOD ?

John Ch. 1 : 18

18 No one has ever seen God. The only Son, God, who is at the Father's
side, has revealed him.
( If man has not seen God, does it mean that there is no God. Of
course many believe and say there is no God. We believe in an
assumption known as 'The Big Bang' on which the science of today is
based. The question here is, “why has man not seen God?” . After
reading further, one will know who is God. This will be the foundation
of one's spiritual living by knowing who or what God is )

Let us now see what the Bible says about who or what is God.
Subsequent verses from the Bible point to the characteristics of God.

LIGHT :
==

1 John Ch. 1 : 5

5 Now this is the message that we have heard from him and proclaim to
you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all.

John Ch. 8 : 12 [ edit ]

12 Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light
of life.”

1 Timothy Ch. 6 : 16

16 who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, and
whom no human being has seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal
power. Amen.

Mathew Ch. 5 : 14 [ edit ]

14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.

John Ch. 1 : 9 [ edit ]

9 The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.
(The above verses from the Bible claim that God is light. What type of
light is this? Sunlight, moonlight, star light, electric light, or
light from burning wood. All this form of light is visible to us. Than
what type of light is he? He is the light which enlightens the mind,
light of understanding, light of truth, light of life, light of love,
spiritual light etc. Can we see this light, feel it, value it, store
it? God is Light)

SOUL :
=

John Ch. 4 : 24

24 God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and truth
(We cannot see either the soul or The Spirit. In Greek 'pneuma' has
four meaning, It means air, breath, life and soul. Of these four, none
can be seen but still we know that there is air, breath, life and
soul. We can feel them but cannot see them. It does not have any
gender, not seen hence we do not know its colour whether black or
white, no religion, The above verse says God is Spirit and to be in
union with him we must worship and Spirit and truth. God is Spirit -
cannot be seen but presence felt.)

LOVE :
=

1 John Ch. 4: 8

8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

John 3 : 16 – 17

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17
for God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but
in order that the world might be saved through him.

1 John Ch. 4 : 16

16 We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God
is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.
(Now what does love mean. Love has various names in different
languages. In some languages of the world, Love is also known as - Al
Hubb (Arabic), Lief (Afrikaans), Ai ( Chinese and Japanese), Pyaar
(Hindi), Lyublyu (Russian), etc . Love also has different forms. Love
of parents, love of brethren, love of husband, love of wife, love of
neighbor, et al. Love cannot be seen, it has no colour, no religion,
no discrimination etc.
A person by name Cletus, though born Christian did not practice or
believe there was God. Fr. Jerry was informed by the Father-in-law
of this person and the reservations he had about God. Fr Jerry asked
Mr Cletus the reason for not practicing his faith. The reply Fr Jerry
got was, “if there is God, show me God?” Fr Jerry was in a tight
corner. Now whom or what should he show as God. At this Fr Jerry
asked God to provide the answer. 'If Mr Cletus has asked you a
question so be a question to him also' was the thought that came to Fr
Jerry's mind. Mr Cletus, you have married Fransica, the daughter of
my benefactor out of love. Wasn't it a love marriage ? Mr Cletus
replied in the positive. Fr Jerry put his next question to Mr Cletus.
Dear do you believe there is LOVE, yours being a love marriage. Mr
Cletus proudly replied “yes.” “Than show me LOVE,” asked Fr Jerry. Mr
Cletus did not know what to show as LOVE. Mr Cletus could not lift
his wife and say this is LOVE. Mr Cletus got the point. Can we see
LOVE? – no. but we know there is LOVE. We cannot see love, just
like we cannot see God. It can only be experienced. 'God is Love')

[Goanet] CYBER CRIME LOOKING FOR SUSPECTS OF ATM FRAUDS?

To,The Director General of Police Panjim-Goa
Dear Sir,
It has come to our information that some fraud has taken place in two
different ATM booths in Goa recently, where around 62 customers have lost
over 13 lakhs in two separate incidents of skimming cards. Goa police
suspect two foreigners and they are still to be apprehended ( enclosed NT
report). Hopefully very soon these accused will be caught and taken into
custody. I was told that their respective Banks have made arrangements to
make payment to the customers who have lost their cash on ATM fraud. Although
the police have released the video footage and images which are clearly
seen in the Navhind Times report dated 12.2.2016, but the suspects are
still at large.Let me give my own case which I have lost Rs. 19.000/- on
ATM fraud. The SBI Bank has not paid yet the cash lost. I have registered
a FIR No. 80/2012 on 07.03.2012 on IPC section 379. This ATM card was
issued by SBI D.Paula Branch of Account No. 10037077557 having No.
622018035660002020438. The FIR complaint was registered in the Panjim
Police station by then Police Inspector R.S. Prabhudesai for ATM fraud of
Rs. 19.000/- at the ATM City Bank Booth, Wiekfield, Pune.I have handed over
the footage given by their concerned ATM booth of City bank from the main
office at Koregao Park and also informed my bank at SBI Dona Paula Branch
Manager immediately. The person seen in the footage was an employee from a
organisation of M/s Mindcress, Pune who was working as security guard and
he left the organisation upon Goa police investigation. So far this person
is not apprehended and he is still at large. Now four years has passed but
still this FIR is open without any investigation going on. At one time our
Police Dept tried to close this FIR which I have not allowed. I have lost
the fate of Goa Police and also the cash of Rs. 19.000/-. Will the DGP (
Director General of Police), take up this matter once again and
investigate as fresh, as nowadays recently such frauds are taking place in
Goa and hopefully the persons who is seen in the footages are apprehended
 and put in jail.

PANAJI: Around 62 customers have reported to have lost over Rs 13 lakhs in
two separate incidents of ATM card skimming reported recently. In order to
ascertain the identity of the two accused who are foreign nationals, the
police have now approached the Foreigner Regional Registration Office
(FRRO) of the Goa police as well as Bureau of immigration, India

Cyber Crime police are in pursuit of two foreign nationals in connection
with ATM card skimming frauds reported recently.

The police, on Thursday, released images and video footage of the two
suspected persons who are seen installing a wireless CCTV camera at an ATM
booth which is used to capture passwords of the ATM cards.

According to the police, the two had also fitted a skimmer device to the
card reader of the ATM to copy data from the magnetic stripe of the cards.

The skimmer device and the camera are fitted for a certain time, and
removed thereafter and the stolen data is used to make duplicate cards.

The police have recovered one pinhole camera and a skimmer device from one
of the ATM booths, which were left behind by the accused.

Around 62 customers have reported to have lost over Rs 13 lakhs in two
separate incidents of ATM card skimming reported recently.

“Both the accused persons are foreign nationals and it is evident from the
images and video footage,” claimed a police officer.

In order to ascertain the identity of the two accused who are foreign
nationals, the police have now approached the Foreigner Regional
Registration Office (FRRO) of the Goa police as well as Bureau of
immigration, India.

The images and video footage (CCTV) were obtained by the police from the
banks. The activity of installing the skimmer and wireless camera was
executed by the two accused in broad day light, the police informed.

The incidents captured by CCTV cameras at two separate ATM booths show time
as 9.30 a.m., one occurred on January 6 and another on January 16.

According to the police, the accused persons must have executed the plan
after carefully examining the area where the ATM machines are installed.

“It appears that they have studied the targeted area before executing the
plan. At one of the ATM booths there was no security guard while in another
there was a security guard (outside ATM),”informed the police.

The police will stress on security and surveillance issues during the
meeting scheduled with bank officials at police headquarters on Friday.

[Goanet] Congress party in hibernation

2016-02-12 Thread Nelson Lopes
CONGRESS IN HIBERNATION?

In the last Assembly elections Congress was badly mauled in its own
backyard with 9 M.L.A,s representing it being once an invincible
monolith. But then just one independent is louder than all of them put
together. One Congress MLA , who was very vocal, daring appears to have
taken vow of silence or is he under obligation for some reasons? May be the
Congress High Command does want individual to be in focus or limelight or
local leadership is feeling the heat of being sidelined. The electorate had
punished the party for being insensitive, self centered, corrupt and
promoting exclusive family interest to corner power .The voters today are
a disillusioned lot and are repenting for a wrong emotional decision .The
opponents carried the day simply by divide and rule strategy., Some
independents who won as a reaction to lethargy, pride, arrogance, did not
meet their aspirations, because they made common cause with communal forces
to remain in the reckoning and further their personal agenda. The ruling
party simply keeps minority electors in good humour to spread divide of
discontent and further consolidate their goal to propagate the theory of
apparent secularism and appeasement to the minorities. Imagine just one
representative in the council of 12 Ministers with not so glamorous,
weighted portfolio and we are complacent with such an arrangement. The
massive support at all India level was pandering to the anger of the voters
and hence their glorious innings at the hustling have left all disappointed
and disillusioned with passage of time. The inroads in otherwise minority
bastions in Salcette is of serious concerns., The ruling party is openly
daring of further consolidating their footprints in the next elections,
emboldened by inactivity, silence or helplessness of the authority which
for long time taken voters for granted

The Congress in Goa after the debacle does not inspire confidence and
indicate any determined signs of bouncing back. It was expected with the
veteran Congress President at the helm of affairs the sagging spirits of
rank and file would be rejuvenated with a short in the arm. Unfortunately
this has not happened on expected lines .In fact he organization does not
appear to be projecting an united front with dissent pulling in different
directions. The ruling party does not hide its glee for being left
seriously unchallenged with an impotent opposition. The temporary pin
pricks does not rattle them often, while mounting counter and calibrated
defense leaving the opponents flabbergasted. The opposition in the Assembly
for all practical purposes is a tame affair with the floor dominated by
other than Congress MLA`s

There is no consistency about infusing new , young blood with old veterans
taking to stage with such an intent. Everybody knows when time comes ,win
ability and financial clout, seniority will prevail throwing avowed
principles to the winds. There is no set programme visible as of today to
infuse young blood as piously professed

The Congress party has isolated itself by not participating in Zilla
Panchayat elections cowardly and purportedly supporting independent
candidates who made it to the winning lot. Further in Municipal elections
too it shied away from assuming responsibility, possibly out of fear of
further diminishing returns .,Those bold individuals who kept the ruling
party at bay in Cuncolim Municipal body were not appreciated, in fact
surprisingly ,covertly questioned about such permutations and combinations,
inspite of the fact that at National level in Bihar Congress aligned with
others

Can anyone justify satisfactorily the Congress party actions against
Monserate ousting him to make an example? On the contrary another Congress
MLA isopenly daring the party to oust him, but party is not willing to
take the gauntlet ? He is openly hob knobbing with the opponents in a more
blatant, serious, defying, mocking manner and making fetish of party
discipline and who is further being appointed in administrative post as a
reward thereby rubbing salt in the wounds. Neither the central party of
High Command or local big wigs seem to be spineless in contrast to more
insignificant discipline by Monserate. The participation or support in
Panjim Municipal elections is being watched eagerly testing waters of
electoral fortunes, with almost time for general elections at the door steps

Celebrate A Coconut Tree-Themed Valentine's Day This Time
IANSFeb 6, 2016, 06.50 PM IST
FacebookTwitterGoogle+RedditLinkedin
On Valentine's Day, celebrated universally on February 14, a charitable trust
in Goa has invited people to make coconut trees their valentine, to
innovatively protest against the state government's controversial decision to
officially de-recognise the coconut palm as a tree.

Armando Gonsalves, who is part of the Goa For Giving trust, told IANS that
apart from celebrating the coconut tree for its multiple uses and its
significance to Goa's cultural identity, a unique photo contest is being
organised in which lovers and married couples were invited to hug coconut trees.

"Valentine's Day is a befitting day to respond to this draconian law which the
Goa assembly passed on January 14, to de-recognise the coconut palm as a tree.
The 'Coconut Love Coconut Valentine' photo contest is just one of the
initiatives we have planned for the day," Gonsalves said.

The photo contest has three categories -- the first one for lovers who can post
a photo hugging a coconut tree, and the second for married couples.

"Those who don't have a valentine, can make the coconut tree their valentine
for the day, hug the tree and send us the photos. That is the third category.
It is the duty of every Goan to protect the coconut tree and protest against
the law which goes against the interests of Goa," Gonsalves said.

On January 14, the Goa government amended the Goa, Daman and Diu Protection of
Trees Act, 1984, dropping the coconut palm from the official list of trees.

The amendment attracted a lot of criticism from the opposition, coalition
partners of the ruling BJP as well as from the civil society, both in India and
abroad.

While critics insist that the amendment was pushed by real estate and
commercial interests, Forest and Environment Minister Rajendra Arlekar defended
the amendment saying the law was amended to benefit coconut farmers to cut old
and non productive palms without having to undergo bureaucratic delays.

On February 14, civil society activists will publicly hug trees at two
locations along the national highway-17, where nearly two dozen coconut palms
have been earmarked for felling.

"Subsequently, we have organised another event on the same day where food,
music, which will accompany a cultural show involving songs and music about the
coconut tree," Gonsalves said.

Goa Agriculture Minister plans to declare national bird as nuisance ‘animal’

latest gaffe, says he is assessing the national bird – the peacock – to see if
it can be declared as vermin (nuisance ‘animal’) along with Goa’s state animal,

Environmentalists have reacted sharply to the move and have warned that it will

2016-02-12 Thread John Eric Gomes
I recall the SC has stated that the Constitution suggests only 5 statutory
authorities may be entitled- President, PM, CMs, Chief Justice and armed
Forces Chiefs. I have suggested RED LIGHTS & Sirens be banned for ALL
except for emergencies namely Ambulances, Fire Tenders, and police only
when chasing criminals! The statutory officials can use blue lights or any
other color. Result will be people will know an emergency---They will be
alert, may come out to help, give way to red light vehicle gladly. Security
will be enhanced and not like in Pathankot for example, where even a PSI
vehicle with blue light was permitted to breach security. The VIP syndrome
must be forced to become redundant!

*AIFF Media Team*

*NEW DELHI:* Even as you spot locals in Guwahati without any pullovers,
maybe out of habit, you prefer to keep it on. After some time, you realize
you can pull it off, but maybe, just out of habit, you still prefer to keep
it on.

At the afternoon practice session, the boys out of habit do all the right
things with the ball. Come Saturday (February 13), they need to pull all of
that together to pull it off against Bangladesh in the semifinal.

Looking back at the two matches played so far, Head Coach Lee Johnson
informs the boys approached the game against Maldives with “great attitude.”

“We worked hard for the entire 90 minutes which was pleasing. The defensive
front at times looked disorganized in the first half but we were able to
rectify it in the 2nd half,” he informs.

“We all have to defend together. They have some quick Players,” he adds.

‘How do you rate Bangladesh?’

Johnson quips: “They are there to win. Their Central holding Midfielder
caught our eye. He looks to have a control over everything. He is the
danger man.”

“That apart, they have some other Players who are quick. We need to stay
focused all throughout. If we can maintain our concentration, we have a
chance,” he states, only to reiterate: “Only if we are able to maintain our
concentration.”

“Ideally we need to be more solid as a Team.”

“You can never underestimate any opponent. It’s a new game every day. We
need to make sure that we approach it in a professional manner if we are to
qualify for the final.”

India made it to the semifinals as the second-placed Team from the Group
having lost one and won the other match.

The smog cover over Guwahati stays all throughout. As the U-23 Team
practiced in the afternoon, the onlookers grow with every passing minute.

“It will be nice to play at the Stadium. If we get a crowd and they get
behind the Team, it will suit our Players more,” Johnson maintains.

The Team news stay that Striker Sumeet Passi stays suspended for the
semifinal, courtesy a double booking.

“We haven’t yet decided on our final XI,” Johnson informs as journalists
ask him over his starting lineup.

“Everyone needs to be 100 percent fit. The boys have hardly practiced
together. They look fit but not all are match fit. In International
Football, it makes a huge difference. Just being mere fit won’t help you to
pull it off.”

The kick-off in Guwahati on Saturday (February 13) is slated for 2pm. And
it’s not just one match – the Women’s Team also face Bangladesh in a ‘do or
die’ encounter in Shillong, the kick-off of which is at 4pm (February 13).

[Goanet] AS DEFIANT GOA CIC CONTINUES MISUSING RED BEACON, GOVT PUT ON NOTICE TO FACE CONTEMPT PROCEEDINGS IN SUPREME COURT

2016-02-12 Thread Aires Rodrigues
With a defiant Goa Chief Information Commissioner Prashant Prabhu Tendolkar
continuing to use the red beacon on his official vehicle GA-07-G-, the
Goa government has today been put on notice to face contempt proceedings
before the Supreme Court.

In a letter jointly addressed to the Chief Secretary, DGP and the Director
of Transport today, their attention has been drawn that despite being
booked by the Transport department yesterday Prashant Tendolkar continues
to use the red beacon in clear defiance of law.

Pointing out that surprisingly the authorities including the Goa Police
have not taken steps to seize and confiscate the red beacon, it has been
stated in the letter that the authorities are duty bound to act in
accordance with law and comply with the directives of the Supreme Court
Judgment dated December 10th 2013 on the issue of misuse of the Red beacon.

It has been further stated that if the misuse of the red beacon by Goa’s
Chief Information Commissioner Prashant Prabhu Tendolkar is allowed to
continue, the Supreme Court of India would be moved by way of a Contempt of
Court petition to ensure that the rule of law is not allowed to be made a
casualty.

*MUST WIN FIXTURE FOR THE INDIAN WOMEN AGAINST BANGLADESH*
*AIFF Media Team*

*NEW DELHI: *The Indian Senior Women’s National Team will clash swords
against Bangladesh in another must-win match on February 13 (Saturday) if
the Indian Women are to progress to the Final of the 12th South Asian
Games, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong.

The kick-off is slated for IST 4pm.

In fact, in Guwahati, the U-23 Men will also face Bangladesh in the
semifinal of the Men’s competition on the day.

India are third in the Group Standings courtesy five points out of a
possible nine, whereas Bangladesh are second and need only a draw to
progress to the Final of the Competition.

Despite dominating all three matches in terms of possession and shots on
target, the Indian Women have been able to garner only one win, as the
‘Women in Blue’ stay victims to uncanny play in the final third.
Come tomorrow, the Indian Women have to pull up their socks and deliver a
sterling performance if they are to progress to the Final.

Head Coach of the Indian Women’s Senior National Team, Sajid Dar agrees and
explains: “It is a do-or-die match for us. We should’ve secured our spot in
the Final by now, but here we are and with Bangladesh needing only a point,
it will be the toughest match for us thus far in the Group Stages as we
expect them to defend deep.”

“We have played quality Football in our fixtures but if you don’t take your
chances in Football results will not come your way. Against Bangladesh we
have to win. It does not matter if we play attractive Football or not, the
bottom-line is that we have to have a win,” Dar added.

Bangladesh are known for their defensive style of play and with the
Bangladeshi Women needing just a point to progress, the onus will be on the
Indian Women to go all out.

“We have to take our chances against Bangladesh. We just have to score in
order to win,” quipped Bembem Devi. “We are here because of our inability
to score upfront. But we still have a shot at the Finals and we will give
it our cent percent to grab a win.”

“Everybody needs to remain cool and focus on the task at hand,” she added.

The Indian Women will also be without the services of Forward Dangmei
Grace, who was injured in the clash against Nepal. “Grace’s injury is a big
loss for us. She was at the peak of her form and hence, it upsets our plans
a bit,” Sajid Dar told www.the-aiff.com.
